Machu Picchu Greetings from Ollantaytambo, a quaint town nestled next to Inka ruins not a two hour train ride from Aguas Caliente, from where everyone ascends to Machu Picchu. Hi! I´m in Lima. I´m not supposed to be but glad I am. Most people will tell you to spend as little time as possible in Lima. My plan was actually to take a bus to Ica to the south of Lima as soon as I got in. But, still having too much fun in Colombia, I didn´t actually find out any specifics. I took a cab directly from the airport to the bus station, but alas, there were no more buses to Ica for the night. And now, for Colombia. I flew into Bogota on a Monday afternoon. I spent the afternoon looking at the old main square and visiting some museums. Colombia´s most famous artist is a man named Botero. There is an excellent little Museo Botero near the town square that not only features his work but has a great collection of Impressionist as well as Surrealist artists considering the size of the museum. Hello familia and friends! Finally, the blog post you´ve been waiting for. Last time I wrote from Ecuador, I said I´d fill you in on Vilcabamba and Cuenca. Suffice it to say, Vilcabamba is so beautiful and relaxing. I really enjoyed my time there. I hope the pictures do it justice. I have so many stories to tell from rappelling down a waterfall, to chartering a boat to take a group of new friends to beautiful beaches, from grueling hikes through jungle to even more beautiful and exclusive beaches, monkeys, butterflies, butterflies, butterflies, freezing buses, Cheech and Chong buses, gelatinous, ashen mud baths in volcanoes, torrential rainfall in Cartagena, amazing fruit, arequipe ice cream... oh man, I love this place! Hi All, I´ve been hanging out in Quito the past four days. I meant to go mountain biking to a town known for its hot springs yesterday but I woke up feeling ever so slightly like I might have a cold coming on.
