Day 6 - Monday June 15th Today we toured Munich. Lots of history in this town, as it was where Hitler began his reign of terror in WWII. Most of the jewish houses and businesses were ransacked & burned down by the German SS, posing as townsfolk. This was Hitlers’s way of rallying for sentiment and hatred toward jews. Once the war was in full swing 90% of Munich was bombed, and destroyed. Knowing the bombs were coming, the inhabitants had the foresight to go around and take photographs of every building, street, and cobblestone pattern. After the war, Munich was rebuilt based on these photos. So, Munich is actually a replica of what it once looked like. All statues were stashed in bomb shelters, at least they were genuine. Day 5 - Sunday june 14th After a quick tour of the Cathedral across the river from our campsite, we left Prague around 3pm heading to Minich (Munchen) . Jay drove again to the Czech border, then I made a sorry attempt at maneuvering the 6spd stick shift! First gear and I really don’t get along, but at 130km in 6th, I did ok. Once again the cars were flying by at 200km. I saw my first Ferrari on the Autobahn!! Just when I was getting the hang of the road, we hit road construction, and slowed to about 20km for 2 hrs. It seems we're a little behind on the blogs!! Internet is very difficult to find here, and what's even more scarce is free time!! We have been sooo busy, on the go all the time. So, the next few blogs will be a reflection on the past week!!! We're actually in Amsterdam right now.... read more

Well, we successfully conquered Prague!! We arrived at 11pm Thursday June 11th after a very long drive from Heidelberg. On the way, we stopped in a little town called Rothenburg. (Thanks Teresa for the tip on the Midevil Museum there!) It was an AMAZING old town surrounded by a wall. Took TONS of pictures inside the Kriminal Mueseum. Actually ran the camera out of battery, and had to run back to the RV. So, the drive to Prague was about 5 hours, and Jay had to drive the whole way, as I was a little hungover! However, I did learn the art of slicing tomatoes on the Autobaun while doing 120km/h !!! Most of the other cars were doing about 200km/h. Hellöfrom Germany!!! Pardon my typing, this keyboard is REALLY messed up with diff characters, and were in an internet cafe so half the letters are rubbed off. We had a change of plans after picking up the RV. We decided to stay in Heidelberg, and head over to Prague in the morning. I have no pictures to post, because the cafe will not let me download from the camera. Germany is absolutely crazee!! NOTHING like i expected. wery hard to communicate, some ppl know english but not very well. The market was a shit show today tring to read labels!! Well' one more day, and I'm off to Vancouver. Jay is flying down from Edmonton as well. Our flight to Germany is at 7 am Tuesday, and we arrive at 7 am Wednesday Morning. It's a 10 hour flight (choke!) and all of Europe is 9 hours ahead of British Columbia. For those of you reading this, thanks for checkin up on us. We will try to blog as often as we can throughout the trip. We should get some pretty awesome pictures and video.
