So my good friend Steve and his girlfriend Julie had been talking about coming and visiting me while I was in Germany. Since he is a farmer he has been pretty busy until now. So being away from home is hard at times but I knew not being at home for Thanksgiving was going to be really hard. So I had lived in Germany for about 4 months and I hadn’t had any visitors. I have finally started feeling like I am getting use to living in my new town of Remscheid. I have been going to school now for about a month and that schedule seem to be feeling more normal. So my time in Germany has been great so far but I had yet to take a weekend trip somewhere. A couple of friends on my program had really wanted to go to Paris and I thought that sounds like a great idea. We planned to spend a whole weekend in Paris starting on Friday afternoon/morning and leaving on Sunday night. Hope that everyone is adjusting to the cold weather. I heard that Minnesota already got its first snowfall in October. My October was filled with adjusting to my new town and trying to figure out school. I am studying at the Universtät in Wuppertal for only a semester. Sorry that it has been so long since I have updated my blog but life has been very busy settling into the new town. I left Radolfzell to start a semester at Bergische Universität in Wuppertal, Germany. I will be studying Wirtshaftwissenschaft (Business and Economics) and Geschichte (History). While going to school I am living in another town not far away called Remscheid. This was the town that I first arrived in when leaving Radolfzell. My last week in Radolfzell was bittersweet. I knew that I would be moving on and I would be able to see a new part of Germany and that was exciting, but I also knew that I was going to miss the people I had met and become so close with. The last week was filled with finishing up language classes and getting things ready for the move. This weekend I went to Oktoberfest in Munich Germany. I feel like this one doesn’t need too much explanation of what it is since this is one German Tradition that most Americans have heard about. We all had a great time and in the end only left behind 2 people out of around 15 so I think that our trip was pretty successful.
