Phuket was expensive, extremely commercial and filled with old men looking for go go girls. Worth a look around for the experience but i would hardly say it was the highlight of my trip. If you are planning a trip to Patong Beach one thing i would say is book in advance because we spent the best part of 2 hours in the baking heat with our back packs on looking accomadation. As you probably guessed we didnt stay long and we were quickly on our way after one night.... read more

Laos! What can i say apart from amazing! If you visit Asia you have to go here. Great time had by all. After arriving in Vientiane the capital of Laos we made a sharp exit to Vang Vieng. Throughout travelling we had been recommended to go here by the majority of people we met, so obviously we would have been stupid not too. The sights were amazing and everything was extremely cheap. Making it a good contender for one of my favourite places so far. Days were spent tubing and chilling out and then more tubing and more chilling out. The pics give a good idea of what tubing is and a few hundred people take to the river each to day to join in! After meeting an abundance of Kiwi' and Australians we were lined ... read more

We arrived in Bangkok on the 8th January early in the morning tired and slightly annoyed. We had quickly realised that some of our things had gone missing on the coach journey. After this we started to hear story's of people being gassed on buses and having there things stolen from beside them. It all seemed a little far fetched but now i can believe that it would happen. The day consisted of a trip to China town and a look around Siam. For the evening we hit the bars on Kho San Road and then headed off guided by locals to some club i will never know the name of. Early start as to not be charged by the hostel and a day chilling around Bangkok after a late one. Next was the overnight coach ... read more

We arrived in Koh Phangan on New Years Eve after the overnight coach and boat journey starting from Bangkok. Lacking accommodation we had to settle with a beach side Hut on the North of the Island, the furthest point away from the main party. I say we had to settle for it but it is probably one of the most beautiful beaches i have ever been too! Tired from travel but determined to have a good night we set off towards Had Rin for the World Famous Full Moon beach party. The pics show a part of our night out and i think some of the people we met along our way. Most of the time we spent on the island was used up chilling on the beach which was exactly what we needed after our ... read more

On our way to the Full moon party ( Thailand) we had time for a short stop in Phnom Penh (Cambodia). The hut we rented by the lake was cheap and pritty basic but set us up perfectly for a night in Cambodia. All the bars where within a stones throw away from our lake side hut in the backpacker region of Phnom Penh. I think the photos tell most of the story of our night out. A trip round the main part of the Capital showed off some of the amazing architecture but also how much of a visible divide there is between rich and poor. An early morning Tuk Tuk ride took us to the airport (29th December) ready for our trip to Ko Phangan, via Bangkok. ... read more

Our first stop in Vietnam was Hanoi where we barely stop to soak up the culture before we were off on a three day boat trip from Halong bay. The first day consisted of chilling out on the top deck of our boat soaking up the sun and taking in some of the amazing views along with going for a swim and getting to know our 'new friends' for the next 3 days. A game of Paper, Scissors, Stone would decide who would spend the night with the know it all Canadian, unforntunately it was me who had to endure his crap. To cut a long story short the rest of the boat trip was made up of a visit to a couple of the 3000 islands that sit off Halong Bay along with Kayaking and ... read more

Hi again everyone, Just a quick one this time, basically an escuse to add more pics! After our short but fun filled time in Hong Kong we decided on a trip to Macau. Macau is on the coast of southern China and a short boat trip away from Hong Kong, also boasting the fact that it overtook Las Vegas in terms of income from casinos, so well worth the trip. So while we were there we visited a couple of top casinos, stakes where a bit high to do any gambling so no money lost there! Instead we decided to spend our money on a night on the town, visiting a couple of bars and the local club. After a few drinks and trying to decided wether the girl chris was chatting too was a prostitute ... read more

Finally arrived in Hong Kong after the 13 hour flight, good job we booked a hostel otherwise we would not have had a clue where to start. The hostel is apparently quite good, or so were told. The fact that all the beds touch gives you an idea of how small its is, and that was the first room! The second room we got moved into after we decided to stay a few more nights was even smaller and included an all in one shower/toilet/sink, i included a pic because im sure its the sort of thing you want to see! Finding places to eat has been particularly difficult, especially with jon with us. But we have managed to include some Japenese food a couple of chinese but probably more than anything so far, McDonalds, not ... read more
