Phuket was expensive, extremely commercial and filled with old men looking for go go girls. Worth a look around for the experience but i would hardly say it was the highlight of my trip. If you are planning a trip to Patong Beach one thing i would say is book in advance because we spent the best part of 2 hours in the baking heat with our back packs on looking accomadation.
