Not a visa run but a kitchen mixer run!
Ha, made us laugh that you went to Uruguay to buy a kitchen mixer...we end up doing things like that too! Seems like you are all having fun seeing the sights and eating, eating and more eating! Hope you are all well and Leslie and Tiffany are enjoying school.

Wow very different than I thought!
Pierre your pics are as usual amazing - was very interested in hearing your experience of Walindi's habit of luring in crocs and sharks with bait..this is the third time ive heard of this happening there, perhaps somewhere else for me but I hope you enjoyed PNG..and you are lucky to have had such good weather..i find PNG to be the rainiest place ive visited so far. Always love your blogs :) We must meet up for a dive some where some time

Thanks for your nice comments Cindy! Don't worry, one day we'll dive together...if you ever come back to Thailand between November and April, I need to introduce you to my friends who run a liveaboard out of Lipe...really basic...but really great adventurous (well sometime a little extreme) diving... But one day you'll show me around Exmouth in beautiful Western Australia...it's one my list down there somewhere...just have to find a sport...maybe april 2015 or later...lol! Getting sorted for two dives in 3 weeks with Leslie...17C degrees...high chances to see whales under water...as they are all over the place at that time in Argentina. Seems we won't dive with the sea lions..just swim...as the colony is on a beach area...3/4 meters deep...sand...swimming may be more suitable...it's ok...as long as we see a whale underwater before this...I can always dream!

Climbing on Walls
Glad the kids enjoyed Colonia--it really is a kid-sized town. Maybe they'll like the long beach in Montevideo or the little port area, but as you said, it's a big city--good luck!

Wow Leslie has traveled more than us
Glad you continue to keep busy on the weekends. Loving Iceland, Greenland and the Faroese. On to the Shetland islands at the beginning of next week. Time is going too quickly.

Out with it. Spill it. Can hardly wait for the out of this world adventures! Your kids are looking good, and you too my friend. Argentina only for a year? Whoa, you better look for a good hotel near your place which I can book when I come a-visiting. Paging Jo and Shane, are we coming? :))

Kid-friendly places
I've loved your blogs for quite awhile and am glad you're spending time in a country I love.I've been down in the "cono" of South America for a couple of years and never made it to Rosario. Some kid-friendly places are the Tigre delta, taking a boat tour, then a ferry to further-out neighborhoods for walking along canals; looking at the great murals/graffiti in San Telmo, and especially the Esteros de Ibira with monkeys, caymen and boat trips. If you're going abroad next weekend, I imagine that may be Uruguay with the fun boat ride over. Colonia is adorable with house museums that would give the kids a feeling for living in another era. I look forward to your coming adventures!

We've had some rain in Iceland
Hoping ours improves as yours has. It will be good if the strike ends soon. I'm glad they stay in a good mood. You look good on the bike..... reliable transportation. Seems like you've become a local already. A bit of ice cream is the perfect end to a day.

Wait to see what is planed for the coming weeks?
The crazier part...will be I have to work full time two weeks in September, two weeks in October and two weeks in November...and during those 6 weeks, I'll cover something like 60,000 miles without much blogging...who say you need to travel to blog...I haven't been on a plane for close to a month...wow!
