I have sorely been neglecting my blog! How tragic! Amsterdam was forever ago but I will try to update on everything since then, maybe just with some photos bc honestly I think that’s all anyone looks at anyway. I loved Amsterdam so much that I decided to spend osme more time in the Netherlands. First we went to Haarlem which is about 20 minutes away from Amsterdam. It was much quieter but just as beautiful. Emily and I just walked around and admired the scenery. We stopped for lunch at a little café and an American man was eating at the table next to us and he gave us some great advice about the Netherlands and told us to jump on the train bc we were only 10 minutes away from the ocean. So even though ... read more

Amsterdam! How cliché is it to say that Amsterdam is my favorite city in Europe? Probably as cliché as posing in front of the I Amsterdam sign and that didn’t stop me so what the hell: Amsterdam is my FAVORITE city in Europe! It’s not just the weed and prostitute thing either, (although who doesn’t love a prostitute in a store window?) Its soooo many other parts to the city that make it such a fun place to be! We took an overnight train from Lugano to Amsterdam Friday night. To save money we decided to forgo the bed and just sleep in chairs. Seemed like a much better idea when booking it but when we were actually on the train I think we were all cursing ourselves for not loosening the purse strings a ... read more

Hallo hallo! I just got back from a weekend holiday of skiing in the Alps! My broken computer has been debilitating to say the least, my fingers are crossed that I can get it fixed this week-- and then I will finally be able to upload my amazing pictures from Venice, Vienna, Budapest, Prague. So skiing in the Alps was a bit different than skiing in the States. First of all, the only people I saw falling were my friends. Even the smallest children looked as though they learned to ski around the same time they learned to walk. We had a really fun time though; I forgive my friends for exaggerating their skiing skills. All I can say is thank god we didn’t rent a place that was ski to door-- something we seriously did ... read more

Here are some pics that i thought you would like, its from around Lugano. Some are of my cozy bungalow, from Monica and I's internet cafe adventure, and mostly from Jason and Kayleigh's bday extravaganza where we celebrated their 21st by visiting some of lugano's finest bars and then for the grand finale sipped wine by the lake. Fun!... read more

Gutentag! Munchen Land!! Sorry its taken so long for me to update, I am SO busy this week with finals, trip planning and the like. Munich was a really fun city, I could definitely spend more time there. We got into Munich after an 8 hour train and had our free drink at the Wom bar (our hostel) and then I went to sleep earlyish to get up in the morning. In the morning we took the train to Dachau, a concentration camp that was only 30 minutes outside munich. We got there super early in the morning and basically had the entire place to ourselves to just walk around and take it all in. I didn’t think it would be as moving as it was.. I mean we all learn about the holocaust and we ... read more

Leather Leather Leather! Firenze was sooo pretty. A picture is worth a thousand words but there aren’t enough pictures in the world to describe how pretty Florence is. I don’t know how people live there all the time without just constantly looking up at how beautiful everything is. How do they ever get anything done? We got to Florence at around 6 and we went to our hostel It was about 2 minutes from the train, which was really nice because you know packed 234993248 outfits. This weekend I travelled with Michelle, Liz, Jackie, Natalie, Jason, Brittney, Monica, Megan, Mary and Caitlin. The hostel was kind of weird, every inch of the walls were painted or written on. Mural after mural of copies of famous art, it was cool and a little skeezy at the same ... read more

Interlaken was miserable on Saturday afternoon because of the weather, but the hostel we stayed in was young Aussie central so that was fun. And they did this thing were drinks were 2 for one from 6-7 and then again from 9-10, and the beer is so heavy here so it was very economical and a good time. No studs rocked my world just yet (but I did get felt up by this creepy Italian, but that was more of an accident/misunderstanding than anything else hahaa) The next morning was GORGEOUSSS! A perfect sunny day. I could finally see how beautiful Interlaken is, its completely surrounded by the alps and they were especially pretty since it had just snowed up there. Since it is the extreme sports capital of the world we wanted to do something ... read more

We did it! We succesfully navigated through the train stations and made it to Bern! The capital! Parliament! Woohoo!! It was really fun to finally be away from the group and do our own thing. I don't know if it was just our luck or what but I found the Swiss German people to be soooo friendly and nice. A woman on the train directed us to the tourist desk, the woman at the tourist desk gave us a map and tons of suggestions and even booked our hostel for us, the man at the hostel desk booked our dinner reservations.. it goes on and on. We arrived in Berne (Me, Allie, Liz, Jackie, Stacy, Brittney, Michelle and Monica) around 6 and dropped our stuff off, freshened up and then headed to dinner at Altes Tramdepot, ... read more

Hey girl hey! i miss you all as usual but the homesickness is slowly relieving itself. today my cold has been at its worst so i ditched the tour around the park and lake and decided to go out on my own. i know that sounds anti social but i've made some friends already and i figured this would be one of my only opportunities to kind of relax and catch up with myself bc every other day starting tomorrow we will either be in class or taking weekend trips. i'm sooo glad i did because i got to walk around lugano and go where I wanteed to go and not where 40 people were going. it was really fun to just explore and take pictures and be alone for the first time. After i had ... read more
