Great comments and travels Hi Lynne and Chris, once again we have enjoyed reading your very detailed entry. You are certainly seeing some interesting things. Thanks for all the effort to share them with us. Keep up the great "work" and good luck for your trip to Tassie.
new baby happy new year
Ours has started off beautifully. We have a new granddaughter.
Rachel gave birth to Madeleine Ruby on 6th January. Ruby was my mothers name. She is just gorgeous
Great to here from you, it's warm here if you are out of the wind! I guess Tasmania will be even cooler. Hope you had a good break. Cheers lynne and Chris
HAPPY NEW YEAR Hi Lyn and Chris. Great pictures and trip notes. We also saw Australia (the movie) over the break and enjoyed it. We certainly don't need jerseys here at present - great swimming weather! Not a good time to go back to work. Have fun. Coralie and Graham R.
Happy New Year to you both. Just back from a week in Waiheke and very hot there. Your photos are great. Sad about your weather but hasnt dampened your spirits by the look of things. Cheers, Jenny
Rod M-S Hi team,
I'm enjoying reading your travel commentaries, they are very well written and you are obviously having lots of fun. The captioned photos are great. Keep them coming.
Waiheke has been keeping me busy since the new year. My new boat, a Mustang 2800 is on the mooring it goes very well, cruises at 22kts at 30 litres per hour and it even catches fish. Cheers Rod
Hi Guys Keep up the blog, good reading. We are having a quite one in Auckland due to work commitments etc, but have bought the boat down to Auckland so are using that a bit. Weather still not really settled. Hear kent and Tracy having a good time at beach. Havent heard from Hamish, but saw both the boys and Nick on the 23rd.
Happy New Year to you both. I so enjoy reading your blogs Lynne and plotting your course on the map. Enjoy Melbourne and then Tasmania. Carl and I feel Tasmania is much like N.Z. in lots of way.
Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Chris. Thinking of you today (23rd). Hope it is a good day for you and the weather behaves itself. We will have a drink for you and wish you a happy year.
Soverign Hill Yes - we were most impressed with Soverign Hill and how beautifully it is done. Did you pan for gold? The Grampians are also a lovely part of Aus.
Have a great Christmas and happy traveling in the New Year.
What a great experience. A fantastic entry Lynne and Chris. We have enjoyed reading this and looking at the photos. Just love the photo of the koala curled up in the tree. You seem to be either having not enough water around you or too much. The Ozzies will be pleased to have some extra rain. Enjoy your time in Melbourne and have a wonderful Xmas and New Year. We will be thinking of you. XX
Merry Xmas and have a great holiday! We will be thinking of you all and your beach holidays - fish and crayfish, it will be different for us to have a city Xmas holiday. We plan to do lots of day trips, and a tram leaves from near the camping ground for city trips.
Great Sightseeing Hi Lynne, Realy enjoying your pictures and notes. It is as though we are on the trip to. We miss you at golf, but know you are having awonderful time. Do take care and Merry Christmas to you both. Lov June
Mystery photographer! O.K. you lot, we do talk to other travellers! We offer to take a photo for them of their whole group, then they offer to take one of us - simple! Hope this solves the issue. We are loving the Grampians, done lots of 4WDing, and walked lots of tracks too. Even visited the MacKenzie Falls yesterday, down 365 steps, coming up was more of a problem! Sent you a postcard Macs! We walked/ climbed to the Pinacles today, 2 hours with very rocky terrain, but great views. Lots of wild flowers out. A fire went through 2 years ago, so all the new growth is amazing among the black gum tree trunks. An amazing area, loving it here.
Latest photos Hi Lynne and Chris-super photos and commentary. I have been wondering about your mystery camera person too-now come on spill the beans, who have you got traveling with you?? Maybe we should all go over and investigate eh Mike!! I would like you to take some photos inside your caravan please Lynne-daily happenings inside. Could be a wet day project! I have recently found out about a web site that you can send your blog address to and have a "Memory Book" made out of your blog posts. Might be worth doing at some stage. Keep up the great 'work'.
wow, have just been looking at your blog looks like you are having a blast, great photos. Hope that accents still staying strong, Have a very merry christmas sarahx
We did the first 3rd of the Great Ocean Rd Hi Linda and Den and all others!
We came to Warrnambool today in the rain, parked the van and had a cuppa. The rain cleared, so we packed a picnic lunch, filled the thermos, and took off down the Great Ocean Road in the car. We went down all the side roads, looking at all the great scenery, but the wind increased to about 40 knots - quite spectacular with the rough seas hitting the cliffs. We got as far as the 12 apostles, then drove back to the van. Depends on the weather what we do next. The wind is cool. No place to sail down here!
Cheers Lynne and Chris
Woops! Stupid me I realise I haven't got my bearings here! On my last comment I thought you were talking about the Southernmost point of Oz but I realise now it is the Southern point of South Australia the State. I need a holiday!!!
South Coast Hi travelers, great to see all your photos and read your log entry. It looks like an interesting area to explore. You look warmly dressed so it must be cool-not like here-at long last we are having some HOT weather! That coastline is where we sailed with Jill and Phil from Melbourne down around Wilson's Prom, around the corner at the bottom. We went through the reefs at night (of Xmas eve actually!) which made it interesting. I can't believe how many craters there are. You are certainly seeing some wildlife too which is great. All sounds great. happy travelin'. XX
Enjoying your blog Sorry it's taken so long to talk to you, things have been pretty hectic since you left. Sounds like you are having a terrific time, you have seen a lot more than us in the 30 years we've been here, Dave is quite jealous!! Keep up the great blogs, regards Dave and Raemar
