Hi Glad you (and Cushla) liked the bird photos. We have heaps of lovely photos, its hard to choose the ones to use for the blog.
Hope Molly is keeping you trim and occupied! Are you taking her to puppy playschool - Tracey took China, and we went along once to observe. It was a lot of fun and laughs.
Cheers Lynne and Chris
fabulous photos To grandma and grandpa I like all of the animals in the photos, my favourite is the rat kangaroo. I like it and I like the birds on grandpa.
They were cool. I want to go there too!
I like the stepping stones too. I like Carnarvon Gorge. Please can you get me one of the jewels for me!
lots of love from Cushla
Fabulous life! We thought you might be out in the wilderness and you surely are. You will be getting so fit with all that walking! Sounds awesome with all the birds and wildlife, they look wonderful. How did the van cope with the dirt roads? Hope all is good. XX
Bird Photo's Great Bird photo's. Have fwd to Heather Obrien (Lupton) who specialised in the above. As predicted Molly is taking the house apart from the inside out.
back in Qld Another interesting travelogue, and more interesting places visited. We went to Glen Innes years ago to track down some "new old stock" vehicle parts - our boys were pre-teen.
We're off to Rarotonga for 8 days on the 7th with Phil, Rachel and boys.
Hope you are well away from this nasty swine flu...there is a local shop selling a cure - it's called oinkment
regards
Rick and Sue
Koala cutie! Another interesting bit of Australia, thanks for sharing. It was good to have a chat when you were in Dubbo. Love your koala picture and the fella sitting under the awning looks not bad either!!
'bye Victoria Well done again Lynne a really good "travel commentary" - when you eventually settle down (in N.Z!) we reckon that you have a future as a tour guide....don't know yet what Chris would do........maybe there are some suggestions from others on the list. Sue and I recognise several of the names in your last 2 blogs - we have cousins living at a place called Paynesville - in the Lakes Entrance general area, and of course Albury,as you will no doubt confirm in your next communication, is the home of Borg-Warner Transmissions Australia. I should have given you a shopping list.
Keep up the good communications..we love it!
Best regards.....Rick and Sue
Great kiwi break! Super to hear and see you are back on the road. What a great collection of photos. Love the one of the grandkids together. Your month in NZ went all too fast. A pity about Chris's card. Give our regards to Wilson's Prom-it was blowing 50 knots last time we were there!! Happy travelin'.
You sound as though you have really enjoyed Tasmania, I know Cherry and Michael loved it. Look forward to seeing you when you get back to NZ. Janie and Richard arrive in Auckland on 8th April and are staying with us for a few days. Not sure if you will still be in Auckland then - hope so. Janie and Richards' baby is due on 15th September (Stu's birthday) so there is great excitement, they have also just bought a flat in Lane Cove so will be settled in their new home by the time the baby arrives.
Meanwhile Louise and Simon have sold their house (contracts should be sign in the next few days) so now have to try and find something to buy. They have to move out of their place at the end of May which gives them a bit of time.
Will you be back in time for Robin and Brians' 80th birthdays on the 14th March? We will be there but have to go up to Oak River the next day for the Body Corporate meeting. The following weekend we have a wedding in Manghwai on Saturday and then fly down to Queenstown for a week on the Sunday and get back the following Sunday.
Now more news, but look forward to catching up soon.
Love

WOW! Fantastic pictures and log entry again Lynne and Chris. We are so pleased you are enjoying your Tassie travels. Yes it is a beautiful coastline, pity the water is soooo cold! Thanks for the pics of St Helen's bar! Also Wineglass bay. We anchored in there for a bit but a big swell rolled in all the time so we kept on sailing until around the corner in Coles bay. You will soon be on your way back across the Bass strait-all the best for your trip back.
Following your travels Hi Lynn and Chris - we so enjoy reading about all your travels and seeing the pics of places we have also been too. Sounds as though you have made some good friends along the way. Regards, Jill and Phil
At Coles Bay now Hi Linda
Luckily we had a CD made, as well as prints of the photos, and Trevor tells us we can probably retrieve them to the computer from that - just haven't had time to try yet. We had a lovely night in a free park at Mayfield Bay last night , had another fire too. Today we came on to Coles Bay. The camping ground on the foreshore was booked out, so we are in the Big 4 one there for 2 nights. We went to the lighthouse today at Cape Tourville and did a 4WD track to Bluestone Bay. We will walk to Wineglass Bay tomorrow. Very pretty here, and good weather.
We were wondering which bar you sailed over.
See you soon , Lynne
Port Arthur area. Enjoyed your blog entry and good to see you managed to get down that Southern road on the D'Entrecasteaux area. Phil had a mate with a fishing trawler at Kettering so he enjoyed seeing that area. Yes Port Arthur certainly is a sobering place to visit for sure. You look well set up in the camping ground there with the fire. Lynne if you want to put some of those photos on your blog just take a photo of your photos. The canon camera does that really well. When you get to St Helen's think of us sailing across the bar there!! Have fun. Not long until we see you again.
Glad to know you are enjoying Tasmania and thank goodness you are not near Melbourne at the moment what with the heat and the fires. A real tragedy for those poor people.
Spoke to Cherry and Mrs. Richardson (Michael's mother) died yesterday at age of 90 but was a release as she had no quality of life at the end. Having very sticky hot weather here with exceptionally high temperatures but have a little bit of rain in the last 24 hours thank goodness. Hope to see you when you are in NZ soon.
Glad we are in Tasmania! Think we are in the best place in oz at present, with the fires and floods in the rest of the country!
Glad to hear Tania is happy, has she got a ring on her finger yet?
Snow and Zena you would love it down here - plenty of places to fossic, and lots of traditional boats . Cheers lynne
What a great trip you are having What a great trip you are having. We haven't seen half these places. We were very glad to hear you were no where near the fires. Tassie is one place we still havent been to. Snow is heading up to the claim in a few weeks. Has to wait till his arm is out of plaster. He had a ladder collapse on him when he was getting off a roof. Tania and Justin very much in love and preparing the house for tenants as they are going back to Canada for 10months.
Love Zena
Hi Good stuff guys. A nice read for a monday morning. Chris, bet you are glad you don't have your company, starting to get tough round here at the moment. Cheers Tony.
Great sights Some amazing sights and experiences . I'm glad you got out to Hell's Gate with its awful tidal rip. Hope you enjoy the D'Entrecasteaux area. Love the photos. Thanks for email too. X
Tasmania Great photos and commentary - it does look a bit like N.Z. - Temperatures here are up at present - Kerekeri recorded highest temp in country yesterday....31 degrees!
Look foward to catching up in March
Loving it in Tasmania
Good to hear from you. We are coming home for the month of March, so look forward to catching up with everyone. We will leave the car and van at a Melbourne Caravan Park. Tracey and Kent have already booked us in for a week's babysitting while they go to China. We hope to spend a week or so at Baylys too.
Cheers Lynne and Chris
oak river drive Hi, finding your travels in Tasmania very interesting and not dissimilar to some of NZ landscapes. We are also having hot temperatures this year for NZ and am trying to spend as much time up here as commitments will allow.
Janie and Richard are coming over to NZ at Easter time to stay which will be great and looking forward to seeing them. Hope to be able to bring them up North as well.
Stu is going back to Thailand in May and think I might go with him and will take an extra week to do some sightseeing. Hope you are both well. You look great in the photos.
Love Penny and Stuart
WOWEE! We are thrilled to see you are enjoying Tas. Your pictures bring back lots of memories, especially Cradle Mountain and the Nut at Stanley. Lynne your photos are stunning-keep up the great work! We have been waiting in anticipation for your first entry from Tas. ENJOY!
Hi Carl and I went to Tasmania a couple of years ago and loved it. It felt more like New Zealand, than Australia, to us.
Looking forward to seeing you when you are back for your visit.
Retired kiwis from Auckland , New Zealand, Chris and I have been travelling around Australia with a caravan and 4WD for the last couple of years..... full info
