keas
Glad you survived the kea gangs. Have you had any lamb? We were desperate for some after eating rice in Asia for weeks, but apparently all NZ lamb is exported - we couldn't find any. Several of the cute little things were at grave risk as we passed by on the road!

Wow
I had to chuckle at the parrots and the rooster--you seem to be runnin afoul of some fowl. I have contracted H1N1 here--just diagnosed last night. . . so I enjoyed sitting and reading about all of your moving and driving and hiking!

Glad to see y'all are doing well. We had a great Thanksgiving. I spent Friday making cookie dough to freeze until I'm ready to bake. The pottery was beautiful. I hope you bought some and sent it home. Take care..Love Liz

Hey Curtis - GPS is working well when we need it. Actually getting around here has been very easy and every town has an information center that answers questions on area sites and directions.

Hello
Hey guys, i hope you had a great thanksgiving and i was wondering how your GPS is working out for you. God Bless

Absolutely laughed out loud at the instant charcoal issue. As to the folks who insist on parking next to you--they obviously are hoping that as Americans, you carry some Match-Lite with you!!

Thanks for sharing your travels with me
Hey Larry and Rhea, I'm enjoying all your wonderful pictures. I'm glad you are both safe. It sounds so much like the States on one hand, but then completely different in other aspects. What a journey. YOu'll be telling stories for years to come. Have a great Thanksgiving. What are your plans for Thanksgiving? What's on the menu? Love Liz

The Eggbowl is this Sat. Pradip Bhowal was held up. He fought him off and was grazed in the head by a bullet. He was treated and released. It happened at an Indian restaurant off I-55. The 28th Newest Comment
Hey - we have a winner. I challenged our blog readers to comment on our blog site and the 28th newest comment would get a NZ gift. Jackie Wright with New Perspectives in Ridgeland is the winner. According to the time she was still on the clock at New Perspectives so I think you'll need to share the prize with Nancy Anderson - or perhaps not! Thanks Jackie - do you like New Zealand Cadbury Chocolate???

So Eve - you'll have to tell us how you and Ozzie got lost? Perhaps we can come skiing at Wolf Mountain at Pagosa Springs after we return and hear the story first hand. Larry

Napier
Glad to hear you found your old friend. I still remember when she and a friend showed up in Jackson at the Salvation Army or bus station? to see the "Old South." Napier does look beautiful. I have read about this town in a travel magazine. Hurricane Ida totally missed us. Not even any rain.

Hello!
Sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Just got back myself from a trip to Columbia, MO visiting a friend who just adopted a child from China. The little girl is just adorable (2 years old). Can't wait to hear more from you. We sure do miss you. Take care.

blog
Hi from sunny and HOT South Fork. Where's the snow?? We're enjoying your blog. I think you'll like the South Island - as you say, it's a lot more rugged and (to us) more interesting than the north. We lost each other for three days in Abel Tasman - we'll have to tell you the story sometime! Eve
