Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hey friends! Love the posts! The "shouldn't go camping" entry made me laugh out loud. You are really getting to see a little of everything (and everyone!). We wish you a late Merry Christmas and an early Happy New Year! Congratulations on your anniversary too! We had the good fortune to see Chuck, Lola, and Lola's mom at the Christmas Eve service at St. Andrew's. Made us homesick for paddling and camping. Maggie talks about how she's going to start paddling this year (ha!). BTW, did anyone tell you it snowed here last month? We miss you guys!!

Merry post-Christmas Day to you!
Hi guys, loved your description of the sights. Here in Spokane it's the total opposite of last year--we did NOT have a white Christmas (very unusual) and indeed have had only one snow so far--6 inches that melted quickly. It's a far cry from the 100+ inches we got last year!! I flew Andy here a couple of weeks ago--I told him to dress for highs in the 30s and 40s--little did I know a REAL cold front would be moving in and the daily high was about 12 the whole time he was here. Plus I had a bacterial infection and felt like crap. I'm afraid his perception of Spokane was less than idyllic. Ah well.

Christmas
It is Christmas Eve here and raining cats and dogs but no reindeer!! We have tornado watches all day and all over the state. Yuk! I will drive to Vicksburg when the weather gets a little better (hopefully, it will), and go to Christ Church with the girls; Mike D. is preaching there tonight, so it will almost feel like home. Katherine and I will return to Clinton tomorrow and then everybody will come here for Christmas dinner on Boxing Day (the day after Christmas). It makes me tired just thinking about the coming and going, but hey, what can I say? Hope all is wonderful for your holiday, and needless to say, you'll never forget it. Miss you and love you, Janie

It's so beautiful, I wish I was there
It's great to hear from you and see the scenery and your camping experiences. The scenery is stunning. I miss you two. My new daughter in law, Leslie, from the Philippines and my son Bryan came up this weekend from Baton Rougue to our house for the first time.

Great pictures Larry and Rhea. By far the pictures of Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound are spectacular!! I can't get over their wild parrots. I would imagine you have to keep you small pets close by and on a leash! Liz

Skydiving??
Skydiving? Boy, you guys are crazy. I think I would still be hanging on to the door of the plane. The pictures are gorgeous! Christmas season is upon us here. We didn't send you any pecans this year, since you were on your grand adventure. It's actually a pretty warm day here. We've gone from snow to tornados. Ah, the pleasures of weather of Mississippi. Take care! Happy Holidays!

Enjoying your trip stories!
We all miss you and we're happy you are having such a great trip. Wow!!! You are really taking full advantage of every opportunity for fun with the luge, skydiving, hiking a glacier etc! I expect you'll be as strong and fit as you've ever been from so much hiking!! Christmas is nearly here and this trip will give you such unusual Christmas memories! As you've heard we had an early snow and there was a small snowman at the Clinton Raymond Rd fire station that lasted 3 days!! There are currently a lot of snow storms throughout the north and northwest, part of a huge weather front that involved our area yesterday with rain and tornado watches. We will be heading to Wisconsin Dec. 19 for a week with my family. You said the weather would warm up near the end of your trip? Early merry Christmas and we'll be folowing all your adventures!! Becky and Mike

Hello again!
Wow! You are braver than me on doing a sky dive. Impressive. Sara will be turning 12 on Friday. We had her birthday party early with a swim party at the Y in the indoor pool. The night before we actually got snow. Not Mississippi snow, but real snow that stuck! The kids loved it. I am sure Sara will remember on getting snow on Friday night and swimming at her party the next day! Ha! Ha! Take care and can wait for the next update. Linda Waldbauer

Thanks
Thanks again for having us in this loop. I is ALMOST as good as being there. Not sure Ramona and I could survive that closeness. Her stuff starts expanding and takes over the camper after a week in Nantahala. We enjoyed New York and just returned from a week in Breckingridge. Eighteen inches of new snow one night. Be careful and we look forward to your return.

Fallen off the end of the world
Hi Larry and Rhea, here I have been checking for your blog and thinking you had gone completely bush and dumped the electronics only to find you have been spammed! Very pleased to read you are getting to some great places and getting some good weather. Wonder where you are now? All well here, Emma and I are planning to drive down to Wellington tomorrow to look for furniture. She has a week off as she has just finished exams.

Great scenery! Thanks for sharing your trip. You should have roasted one of those Keas for Thanksgiving.
