A few months back Ryanair graced us with yet another sale on their alredy bargain tickets. How could we resist a £20 return flight (taxes included) to somewhere in Europe - so Venice it was. What started with just 3 of us soon ended with 7 of us going. We booked our lovely apartment on the canals and we were set for Pizza, Wine, Pasta, Canals and Gondola rides. Before we even left London we were down to 6 people. The morning we were due to leave, Nese was fortunate enough for a family member (of the family she works for as she is a nanny) to have a heart attack and she had to run to the rescue of the non-english speaking Grandma who was in an English hospital while her bosses (Neses') were in ... read more

It has been a long time between travel stories we know, but we have been saving hard for a few months for a nice long holiday!! This time, Jacqui would be joining us from Oz. So first off Jacqui would be coming to London for a quick tour. She arrived in London all safe and sound, but her luggage didnt. luckily for her, and the lady at the luggage counter, it had been left in Amsterdam and it would be delivered the next day. Our first stop on our whirlwind European adventure was a quick train trip through the channel to Paris. We had a great choice of hotels which was in the middle of the Bronx!!! it felt like we had been dropped off in India too!! that is what you get when you book ... read more

We set sail, well ferry, across from Turkey to Greece to Samos. So close to Turkey that you can almost swim across at some points and the Greeks have guns lining the shores to keep the Turks away. Those Greeks still love the Turks!! On the ferry we ran into people we had met in Instabul who were travelling from Oz for a year, who became our travelling companions for our time in the Greek Islands. After arriving in Samos we were greeted by an Aussie fella who helped us out with a place to stay, close to the beach. Nice !!(which is to be said like Borat!) It was now time to spend more time relaxing on the beach and enjoying the great weather. We, well Dave, tried his hand at driving a European ... read more

We spent a wonderful 12 hour overnight bus trip from Olympos to Goreme in Capadoccia. They are a bit posh on the Turkish buses. They actually have a host that comes around and serves coffee, tea, water/cola and cakes. How cool is that?? But we slept most of the way and Kerrie annoyed the bus by coughing, thanks to the bronchitis or whatever it was she had. We arrived very early in the morning and headed to the Shoestring Pension to stay in caves. So far we had slept on the yacht, then tree houses and now in caves!! After a nap we started to see the sights and headed out on a tour with the rest of the gang. Underground cities, big valleys and fairy chimneys galore. We spent the day travelling around the ... read more

After a tough few days of paragliding, drinking, eating and enjoying the sights of lovely Fethiye, we boarded our gulet (yacht) and set sail on our 4 day cruise around the coast. On the boat there were 15 people and 3 crew. The crew all Turkish, the guests, all Aussies. Of course it was!!!! After leaving the harbour it was a great start. We lay on the deck and enjoyed the sun, then something started to happen. A little bit of rocking side to side turned into a lot of rolling form side to side and before we new it we were clambering below deck. With shit flying everywhere we sought shelter in a little cove. Only one spewer, and it wasn't Kerrie for a change!!! The rest of that day it rained and we ... read more

Well well well after the boring trip ın Scotland we were off to Turkey for the Anzac Day service in Gallipoli and to spend three weeks travelling around Turkey seeing all the sights. We arrived in İstanbul only to realise that we had stupidly spent all our money in the London airport on shit and had to get Turkish Vısa's, oops. We had enough money for one but not for another. We were a lıttle concerned but we scraped together enough cash (somehow Kez had some Euro's hidden) to get Visas and then we were in. A short taxi rıde to the area where we were to stay for a few days before heading off to Gallipoli. Sultanamhet was the area of Istanbul we stayed in and it was littered with Aussies and Kiwi's all ... read more

Our first destination on our 7 week holiday was Edinburgh and no better way to start off the trip than watching Australia defeat England in the world cup cricket. This was the beginning of our holiday that we should have left until our 70's. We caught up with a couple of mates from London and toured around Edinburgh Castle. That night we were amused by one of the girls, Mel, rollıng down the cobble stone streets of Edinburgh!! Day 2 consisted of a bus tour around the city, lazing in the park and then a Torture and Terror tour in the evening. Next stop was to catch up with Kerrıe's family friends in Glasgow for a few nights. We were treated to a cooked breakfast each morning and shown the sights of Glencoe, Loch Lomond, ... read more

Chrissy in the snow, what an awesome idea, It was to be our first White Christmas. A few months before Christmas we all decided to go to the snow in France. No one had a clue what to expect but with the crew that were going we kinda had a suspicion that we would go hell for leather the whole trip in everything we did, be it snowboarding, drinking, snowboarding or drinking!!! The drive there in the Red Bullet was very long. The seven of us, Dave, Kerrie, Casey, Nese, Fieldsy, Mel & Grant, left London and hit the road in the night, full to the brim with all of our gear, and headed to Dover to catch the Ferry. We were very lucky the whole way there as there was no traffic, just a shitload ... read more
