Congratulations! Soo glad you made it - soo with you in spirit (vodka) - soo missing you already - soo glad your doing the blog!
Soo much has changed and stayed the same since you left...! Looking forward to the next instalment...
Gay action in Avarua - Wot? 'Ello from Melbourne - back a couple of days after another heavenly week in Paradise. Not much news from the Inn. We had dinner at the staircase with the lovely Pam and saw a fantastic Island Dance Group. The usual one day on, one day off (drinking) - it was somewhat tiring being the local entertainment - a couple more 5 am finishes. Anyway - fantastic to meet you both - maybe catch up in Blighty Xmas? luv D+M
Gee? Did you say Gee, or is it my eye-sight again? Good to see photos of you two as well as the amasing scenery. Intrepid or what!
Sian being even more intrepid in Utah!
a kiwi in Nelson Hi John and Barb,
I'm sitting here at my puter that works on windows 98 ( first edition I might add!) with my very fast dialup speed of ... hang on while I check what it is right now... OK 33bps feeling rather like a twit. The unfortunate thing about me using the internet is I tend to post before thinking which is exactly what I did with you. So first I'd like to apologise for sticking my nose in :( I dont know why I got so riled because alot of what you say is the same stuff as we kiwis moan about all the time. Anyway I do apologise and I've enjoyed reading your blogs, well most of them!! I know you will have an awesome time in the sun and sand of Fiji and I will enjoy reading about the rest of your trip
Take care and have a good one,
Ka Kite,
Frazz
depressing OMG you poor people it must be so miserable for you to have to put up with such primitive conditions... I can't imagine a country that has no fast internet, unsofisticated people, dreary towns, shops shut on holidays and worst of all wash my mouth out, having to pay for your georgeous laptop to be hooked up to some fleapit establishments ethernet, I imagine you can't wait to get out of there but I'm sure the people you meet along the way will remember you both for your lovely smiles and good humour, have a lovely last few days of your trip maybe wait till you leave new zealand to do your last blog so that you dont have to fret over the slow connection. :)
Just dropped in . . . . . . to check up on your progress. Sydney was Kevin's "second home" for a number of years, so -- when he returns from his trip with Randy to Salt Lake City on Friday -- he'll enjoy reading of your experiences and seeing the photos too. I am enjoying your travels and tales!! Here's to living like a 20-something!! CHEERS! XOXOXO
Photo "this one's for Steve" Thanks for the photo. I assume the relevance being "Holy Moley" and not the superannuation insurance plan nor the dental surgeon or orthodontists for teenagers advertisments!
Take care, Steve
That's better Yeah a great improvement, Jon and Babs, your cold, bored friends in UK expect a full range of Asiatic stereotypes for their delight and bathing elephants and noxious insects on sale as edible fare truly meet the bill. Bet you're glad your vegetarians!
from the "real" world You are models for what I hope we will do soon. This is what I'm up to now -- after my usual flexible, easy consulting to which I've managed to engage myself over the last many years -- I'm now indentured to, let's say, India but local company, and they are workin' my ass off. I see enough benefit in terms of renumeration and connection that the suffering is worth it. You can imagine the salivating when I read your blog. Very sad news here has me reeling, John King, the priest who married us, has a few months live, and being him and Buddhist is just facing it and giving no one a chance to pretend it isn't so. We look forward to your arrival here, and in the meantime will enjoy reading about all your adventures. The lizard is my personal favorite running a close second to Barb's Ginger-do. XOXO
Sorry I missed you! Hi Jon and Barb! Thanks for the post on the blog! I am sorry I somehow missed saying goodbye. I came down to the restaurant after yoga, had lunch, and then walked down the beach to take the long boat to Haad Rin. I probably went too early, but you never know when those long boats are going to leave! Ended up getting overtaken by a big wave and drenched my pack even though the sea was calm... oh well. Made it to Samui and late last night to Bangkok. I'll be here until Sunday (first available flight) when I depart for Luang Prabang, Lao, to meet Lori.
It was just great meeting you two! Have very safe travels and do keep in touch!
my email is douglas_whitman@hotmail.com
take care, Doug
You do sound like spoilt middle-class, middle-aged, middle Englanders off on your post dog travels. I almost thought you were a strange couple I didn't know. can we hurry up and get on to the sex, drugs and seedy bars? Less scenery more "The night JB got lashed and couldn't tell a ladyboy from a drunken checkout girl from Croydon" sort of stuff would be entertaining....
Congratulations on Beginning We're delighted that you'll be keeping us posted during your adventures. We look foward to your recommendatons of places and accommodations that, if nothing else, we can dream of. XOXOXO
Just two people in love with each other and the idea of doing some travelling while we still have the time and inclination. Meet some new friends and hook up with some old ones.... full info
