After Boquete we went to Panama city and it was horrendous. It was almost worse than San Jose, despite it being the most advanced city in Central America. However, with advancement comes American educated tattoo artists, which is how I got my first tattoo... and its an amazing little black swirly turtle on the back of my neck. Me and Jen flew to Honduras and parted ways with Ido who flew to Columbia. We stayed in Honduras for two days and had so many bad experiences that we decided to just bus down to Nicaragua. We had run out of money [View Full Entry]

We stayed in a beautiful coffee town called Boquete for three days in the inland of Panama. The climate was really cool, and it was a nice change from all of the heat waves. In Boquete we found an animal rehabilitation sanctuary for domestically abused animals and those in the wild as well. It was by far the highlight of Boquete. The animals were so amazing. We took an 8 hour bus ride to Panama city a few days ago. I don't like the city at all, it's really dirty and loud and congested. Jen and I decided to go to [View Full Entry]

We have been in a little town right now called Puerto Viejo for 3 nights, and its really laid back and fun. Everyone here is from Jamaica. Im extremely tempted to get dreads, but Ido and Jen are not letting me!! There are also a lot of kittens in this town...lucky for me. We travelled to Cahuita today with Ido and Ori, another boy who grew up in the States but is now from Israel. Cahuita is a national park along a really nice beach were we walked in the jungle, saw an igauna, a HUGE poisonous spider, an anteater, and [View Full Entry]

Bocas Del Toro is absolutley amazing. Its a popular spot compiled of many islands on the carribean sea. We are running into lots of people from our old hostel in Peurto Viejo, and its been really nice to see everyone again that youve already said bye too. We ran into Adam today, walking down the street in isla colon, and we all took a taxi to this beatiful beach north of the island. Its scattered with coconut trees, and has the typical image of a carribean beach. We saw dead tuna fish when we were walking along the beach, and they [View Full Entry]

I'm now in La Fortuna, a beautiful little town about 3.5 hours outside of San Jose. 3 nights ago I met two Americans, Jimmy and Brian, at the restaurant at our hostel in San Jose. We went out to a bar that had THREE bands playing simultaneously, and it was a little crazy. Later we met another guy from England who was a little different, followed us around for a bit, and tried to sell us cocaine...so we ended up leaving. If you get caught associating with someone who does drugs in Central America, even if you don't use or buy, [View Full Entry]

My experience with Costa Rica is amazing so far. The weather is super hot, and it rained and cooled it down a little tonight. I was a little hesistant on the way here, but it quickly faded when I met Jess (ironically with the same name), a spanish major on her 4th visit to Costa to teach english in San Jose. When we landed, the taxis were unbelievably aggressive, but I enventually found my shuttle, Francisco the driver. He was smoking a ciguar with the hostel sign tucked out of view under his arm, on a cell phone, and was no [View Full Entry]
