happy b/day Jazzy......loving birthday wishes from Mrs Lizard, Huckley, Toothless, Shrek and myself. I have a big hug and one or two kisses all wrapped up when we next meet [soon I hope]. Your blog says HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS.......are these the invisible ones !! I must get my eyes checked since I can't see any but then I am getting on in years. We had a long weekend this weekend so I went to lunch at the Hyatt as per usual. I have just finished correcting over 65 exam papers for my classes. Some good ones coming up. Tell mommy that her 'friend' Maggie [1995 class] is leaving our school and heading to Germany....to follow her heart !!! Did not get your answers to my mini quiz !!! Detention may be handed out for lack of homework ! So where to next ? And most importantly when is the return journey commencing ? Love you and enjoy life.
sun! sun!!!! aaaghhh!!! Give me sun!! Did you really type that one by yourself? It's impeccable! I'm craving fish and sunshine at the moment. Today we were picking apples under really big black fearsome looking clouds. There hasn't been any sun for 5 days. The solar panels aren't very happy :( We've been having dinner by candlelight, and playing our ukuleles for music, which has been nice :) I made a fruit dryer and dried apples over the stove. Miss you!! love Charlie. x
catch up. Hi Jasper, just writing to you to see how you are. All the kids in yr 2 are missing you and can't wait until you come back to school. How is your big holiday going? At school we have been really busy and my mum has been in my class lots! Are you still staying with your Grandad? We sit in the yr 1 class and get to see everything that you've been up to on your travels. Well better go, have loads of fun and dont forget us all at PDHS. Look forward to your reply.
Your friend Nathan.
hallo to all! Jazzy Jasper; It's been great to read the Broome blogs. I really wish I was with you all enjoying the family reunion, especially because Sydney is pretty cold and wet right now - no daily swims in a warm clear ocean! Could you take a photo of Kev and Pete together so that I can see them both in Broome? Not too far away, please. Maybe you dad has shown you the photo of him playing with hermit crabs when he was a little boy; your blog reminded me of this. They're fun, aren't they? But sometimes they just curl up tight, go all dry, and never reappear! Drive safely Kev. Love from Gail

Great fishing Hi Jasper,
I am impressed. There are some big fish in those photos! Yummy dinners too. It looks like you are having such a wonderful time. What do you catch with hermit crabs? I thought they were pets not bait. We watched a beach polo game on the news tonight that happened in Broome on Cable. Did you see it?
All the best,
Mrs Schmidt
fishy fishy fishy fish!! Why does that Skippy have a smiley face even though it's getting eaten for dinner!? hehe... you should get dad to show you the photo of Peter holding up a big fish with him holding up a teabag right next to it :)
Take some photos of your Mum and put them on your blog, Jasper.
Tuna tastes good raw. It needs to be very fresh and sliced very fine, then dip it in light soya sauce. Yum!!
The one that didn't get away Hello everyone,
Your photos show you are all having too much fun !
I am in Broome in two weeks and if you are all still there I will get to go fishing with you I hope.
Cheers,Kim.
Wow! Jasper it is an absolute joy to see you engaging and participating in so many varied experiences. You seem to be making the most of every opportunity to try something new, both good and not so good - I agree with your opinion of the paw-paw, though Amo would not! What did stand out in your photos was that you have lost your tooth!!!! When did that happen? I must stay I hadn't noticed that it was gone any of your previous photos. Are you going to Roebuck Bay to see the "Staircase to the Moon"? What about a camel ride? So many things to do... love you, Sito.
Hi Jasper,
Perhaps your Dad has told you that when we lived in Broome it was more like a desert than a jungle. When the town was connected to good water people could grow plants. Before that the water was so salty that it killed the plants. People in the houses had to filter the water before they could drink it. Lots of houses had rain water tanks to get good water .We had a big tank and one day a bird got drowned in it and we didn't know until the water started to smell and taste nasty. Take your Mum to see the Museum too, it is a very interesting place to find out more about the history of the town.
Lots of love
Nornie
very interesting I was in the middle of writing you a little note and like your mommy I accidentally push a button which was obviously the wrong thing to do; and it disappeared. Unlike your mommy I don't drink funny smelling colourless liquid. I still get a thrill from reading your comments.......so very interesting. Of course not having gone further than Kalbarri, my interest is increased. Have you learnt the chemical symbols sent in previous mail. Today I have 2 unusual symbols for your to take on board; they dont follow the norm.......sodium = Na and potassium = K. Will tell you why these symbols were chosen when we next meet. I am at school now but my first class is in 1 hours time. Next 2 weeks I have no classes as my students are doing exams. We then get a long weekend. Not a bad career this teaching caper. I look forward to your next ''chapter''. Seen any whales yet.....love ewe [find incorrect word !!!]; love to mom/dad
envious!! phwoar! lucky you! cold showers! tell you what, if I were to have a cold shower down here, I'd freeze into an iceblock before i could even get to the fire on time! Broome sounds awesome :) Are there still jellyfish and crocodiles swimming around cable beach or have they gone? You should go and find the dinosaur footprint at Gantheume point! And then get dad to show you his old house! (It's covered in a jungle as well) It's getting so cold down here, we're expecting a frost any day now... i'm just a bit worried about our goji berries and other things we planted... maybe i should bring them inside? Have a swim and a cold shower for me! :) Talk soon. Love Charlie. x
Hi Everyone...just discovered the travel blog!! This is a great way to keep in touch with all your family and friends. When I travelled years ago I had to send postcards via snail mail!! Sounds like you are having a great time exploring all the wonders of the norwest. We had a huge storm last week which washed away a lot of our fences..but it filled our dams which is good. We started seeding the barley today so will be busy for the next few weeks planting wheat and barley. Hope you have lots more adventures...bye for now
Swept away with Broome Hi Jasper,
Sounds like you had a great ride and an interesting day in Broome. I used to live in Broome. See if you can find my old house. It's in the old part of town at 11 Bray Place. Sandra and I lived there for about 9 months a long time ago.
You might be able to visit Beagle Bay too. That's about 120kms from Broome. I used to live and teach there a long time ago. They have a really special church...made of pearls!
Seeya. Hope you and your mum and dad enjoy Broome. Be careful not to get swept away:)
Terry
Jealous Hi Jasper,
We loved Broome. I am jealous that we are not there with you. Which beach did you go to? Cable? We are all working hard here and getting ready for the reports. What did you think of the coconut? I like paw-paw. Maybe give it another try when you are older. Your taste buds change you know.
All the best,
Mrs Schmidt
Exploding people Hello everyone,
It must be exciting to reach Broome.
You sound like you are having a nice time. I like the photos that you are sharing with us.
Poor Dad,getting bogged like that!
I want to know more about the exploding people near Withnall Bay please.
Cheers,Kim.
Jasper, you will have lots of things to see now you're in Broome. Get your Dad to show you where he used to live when he was about your age and younger. It is hidden behind bushes now so its hard to find. He might take you to Jones' beach. He will also show show how to find the shells that are alive with the mollusc inside. You might also see his old school. Its a lot bigger now than when he was there. Maybe Peter will show you his school too. Love Nornie
Fishing! You sound like you are having lots of fishing adventures! I love fishing, it's very relaxing, but also exciting! I haven't been fishing in ages. Dad and I used to catch lots of fish on canoe trips, but he had to do the gutting and scaling because I was way too squeamish. He always said that it was just a part of fishing. I hope it's lots of fun! Have a bite of yummy fresh fish for me! x
Ningaloo...what an amazing place! Wow Jasper, you're so lucky to be visiting one of the natural wonders of the world. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It sounds like you and your mum and dad are having a great time. I've never been to Onslow so I'd love to see any photos you made whilst you were there. Too bad about getting bogged. It does happen\s some times.
Enjoy the next stage of your journey.
Cheers
Terry
True adventure Hi Jasper,
Now it is a true adventure. Getting bogged makes it so much more exciting don't you think dad? I am glad you got out though. Sounds like you love snorkelling as much as I do Jasper. Very lucky to swim with a turtle. I will show this to the Year 2's tomorrow. We love photos though. Can you attatch more of those?
All the best,
Mrs Schmidt
I love your story, Jasper. Is there a sequel? Charlie and Carolann called into our place on the weekend when they were on their way to Perth. Can Mum and Dad add some news on your blog too?Lots of love to you all.
The hungry dog story Hello Jasper,
I enjoyed your latest story. I bet you were waiting for your dinner when you wrote it.
How has your bus been going and have you had any flat tyres?
Have you caught any more fish to eat with the sprout garden?
Are you starting to see lots of eagles and birds of prey like your uncle Peter said you would?
Best wishes to you and Mum and Dad. Kim. X
