your adventures! Dear Jazzy Jasper,
I've been really enjoying reading about all your adventures on the road. i especially liked hearing about the echidna. I have never seen an echidna in the wild, so I think you're very lucky. Kyra and I have seen a wombat, which also curled itself up in a ball; that was fun too.
I also love your story. I think you should write more stories about your three dogs. They have wonderful names and extraordinary adventures. I ould like to find the green door and the orange door with the magic worlds behind them. I think Puppyland would be very noisy and busy, dont you? Will Opal, Squeezer and Rover return to Puppyland, or will they keep finding more magic doors, i wonder.
Here in Sydney I have a friend visiting, so Im out and about a bit this week, to the Bridge, markets and movies. It feels like a holiday, but I have to work too. I guess that's a bit like your trip!
Lots of love from Gail - and thank you for your fantastic blog!
my brother is a writer!! great story jasper! You should make a whole book from the adventures of Rover, Opal and Squeezer :) Me and Nornie read it out loud. I am staying overnight at Nornie and Pop Art's tonight with Carolann. We're going to Perth tomorrow, where hopefully it will be warmer than in Pemberton! It's FREEZING down there at the moment!! I bet you're glad to be in the sunshine! Say hello to Pete n Jo n Ben and Pip for me (and to Dad and B!) Love Charlie. xx
Story Hi Jasper,
Loved reading your story. Are there more chapters to come? I posted a note on an older page because I only read your blog for the first time a few days ago. I showed your photos and blog entries to the Year Ones and Two's yesterday. Mrs Beaton wrote you a note. We put your photos on the data projector so all the kids could see them. Keep us updated about where you are and what you are doing. I will continue to show the class.
Happy venturing,
Mrs Schmidt
Year 1/2 Class Hi Jasper
Loved your stories and your photos. Looks like you and mum and dad are having an absolute ball. Hope your having not too good a time because we all want you back. Keep writing on your blog because we want to know what you are up to. Mrs Beaton says, "Jasper, I am most impressed with your writing."
Big hi to your mum and dad. Good to be in touch at last. We will write another blog entry soon.
Love from all your friends in Year One and Two
Feral spotting Jasper, I'm really following your progress north, and I imagine by now you arer in Exmouth. I don't know were the prawn season is up to but you used to be able to get great prawns at Learmonth. There are also some good little beaches for whiting and bream between Learmonth and Exmouth.
Spotting feral and domestic animals doesn't count! I'm sure you'll start seeing some raptors (eagles hawks etc) along the way and if your're lucky there may still be some bog flocks of budgies near some of those north-west river crossings. When you leave Exmouth heading north you will come to old Barridale about a days travel away. There is no roadhouse there anymore but friends of ours are roo shooters who live about 100m beyond the camp site in a range of dwellings. Call in if you want to meet a really interesting couple . Their names are Bruce and Gianne Tate and we know them as their kids were on School of the Air. He's a passionate gardener and a keen observer of nature. It's a fairly rough camp but they are "salt of the earth"
Any more luck with your fishing yet?Would you like to make me some chimes out of some of the shells you find? Especially when you get further North and start finding the thin ones that go "clink"
Love a good road trip Hello everyone. I follow your great adventure each day and it sure looks wonderful.
It is getting very cold at night now in Pemberton. I like your bus garden. Kim X.
Pictures Jasper do you have pictures of your Brownie home and your shell picture? I would love to see them if you have. Quobba sounds like the perfect place to enjoy a good book - lazing next to the sea, taking in the visual delights and then immersing yourself in a captivating story. Have you read any more Harry Potter? What a wonderful way to spend your days - exploring each new place you visit. Your blog entries make us feel very much a part of your experience and it is exciting to read about all the new adventures you are having. I am so pleased that you were able to create a beautiful present for Mum - does she wear her necklace? You are just like Picasso - using found objects to make art. I am back at school tomorrow, so I will log on again with the Pre-primary class. They enjoy looking at the pictures of your trip. Take care my darling boy. Amo and I send our love.
Love reading your blogs! Hi Jasper,
Sorry. I have only just discovered all your blogs. I have worked backwards from the most current and caught up with all the wonderful things you have been doing. Wait till I show my kids (Jordan and Jemma) tomorrow. They will all love reading them. Mrs Beaton was away from school today, but I will show your class tomorrow aswell. Keep up all the hard work and have continue to have lots of advenures. I am very jealous. You have seen some different sights to us. We did not go to Quobba, Kalbarri or Port Gregory. It is good to do different things and have your own special places.
All the best,
I will keep in touch regularly from now on. I promise.
Mrs Schmidt
The Blows comments Jasper, Isn't Quobba an interesting place. People in Carnarvon usually call it the Blows. The School of the Air had students at Quobba, Gnarloo, Red Bluff surf spot and further up to Warorroh, Coral Bay and Ningaloo. I think that the Ningaloo Reef is one of the most underrated tourist attractions , as the reef is in better condition and much easier to get to than the Great Barrier Reef. Tell Dad that the road north from Quobba to Gnarloo is usually really bad and not suitable for buses. Are you going back through Carnarvon or heading off to Coral Bay and Exmouth?
The weather is getting better here every day as night-time tempuratures have dropped to about 18 and the days are still warm at about 35.
Have you seen any more interesting birds?
The plovers and Ibis have all returned to the park opposite our house and sometimes the big ibis land on pour house roof!
Must go now as I've got lots of work to do tonight for abig planning document I need to finish for tomorrow.
Peter
Eating Thai fish cakes Jasper,
Tonight I'm eating our second feed of the fish I caught on Saturday. I made Thai fish cakes which is a special dish I make out of extra fish. Sometimes I make it a bit too hot (with chillies) but mostly it's a spicey meal and people can put on their own hot sauces if they like. I mince up lots of fish and mix in some of the wonderful fresh herbs I can get like lemongrass, kaffir lime, fresh lime and corriander. I know your big brother likes this tucker and you can try some too when you get here. Did you catch any fish in Carnarvon?
When you travel north from Carnarvon you'll pass lots of sheep and cattle stations. When Jo and I worked for the School of the Air we visited nearly all of them as that's where our students lived. It's very hot, dry, and at times rocky country and at times we wondered if the sheep ate rocks- there didn't seem to be much else especially in the summer. I must go now and eat up my tea.
Love Peter
I've been to Kalbarri too. Hey Jasper, I love your stories. You've had so many adventures. I can remember visiting some of the places you have seen...the prison at port Gregory, Dongara, Kalbarri and the gorges and Carnarvon. That is such a lonnngggg drive.
I'm glad you're enjoying your trip. I also hope you keep catching fish.
I'm looking forward to your next blog.
Terry

Love to all
Nornie and Pop Art
Big banana Great to see you have got to sunny Carnarvon. It sounds like you are doing lots of fishing. I'm going fishing this afternoon so i might have to save a picture to boast about my catch! I can't see any way of resending my earlier comments. Jasper did you see the big banana? I didn't notice it when we last went through Carnarvon so it might have shifted. You should be able to stock up on fresh produce before heading out. There is also a great fish place out at the small boat harbour. There used to be an excellent fresh fish outlet there to (only for out of luck fisherman)
I'moff to the Broome markets now, to get my nice coffee and some fresh veges. Safe travelling.
sprouts!! great sprouting!! i used to grow mine in the darkness of a cupboard in Orbit and put them out in the sun to green up a bit when they were big enough. Careful they don't dry out! love Charlie.
Lost Comment? Hello!! did you lose my comment about your story? I will try and remember what I said.
I said that I loved it! and I wish that I had a super bug to tell me where to go! (But it would have to be a little ladybug because I don't really like big crawly bugs) I hope you write lots more stories, you are so imaginative! It looks like it's nice and warm up there, it's getting very cold at night in Fremantle, time to put my uggies on. Love you!! x Lexie
wow-e-wow A squid, a whale, homework, gorge, catching fish and a balloon.........wow-e-wow. I and Mrs Spider get thrill when we read your blog; and we check each day to see what new as been added. Mrs Spider's children can't read so we tell them all about your adventures. The fire that was threatening their home has been extinguished. I have just install a new 50 inch TV for sito; 42 inch TV was just too small to watch Desperate Housewife. I now have the 'old' 42 inch TV upstairs where I can watch Geelong in peace. School is as per usual.........stressless and fun at times. After Carnavon soon you will be at Monkey Mia where the dolphins are getting their clear waters a bit muddied with sewage......ugh !! I cant wait to read your adventure with the dolphins. i miss you and I know sito misses you a lot. We love you.......pass on some to mommy and daddy..........amo and mrs spider
