Enjoyed a lovely BBQ with the family today, in the lovely lakeside town of Goolwa. Sensational weather meant that taking anything other than the motorbike would have been criminal. Good clear skies and fresh crisp air. The road surface between Strathalbyn and the Finnis turn off was like riding over yellow speed humps. After having a partial snooze I went for a walk with Peter along the lake shore back towards town. Great to see people getting out there on the water. Said goodbye to the family and headed down to the barrage for a gander. Its open and free flowing, great to see it looking so healthy again. The ride back to town had quite a bit of sun in the eyes once on the freeway, but all good as traffic behaved itself. Great day ... read more

Absorbed some high star luxury in the heart of the CBD. A fresh clear morning superbly viewed from our awesome buffet full breakfast. Didnt need to eat for the rest of the day, well except for the blueberry muffins we took from the breakfast buffet.... read more

Early morning outside our room at Mount Lofty House. Complimentary bottle of red was consumed in front of a fireplace, in a room of beautiful furniture including leather chesterfields and armchairs. Dinner in the restaurant was superb. For breakfast we were joined by birds fossiking amongst the bushes outside our window. Great atmosphere in a lovely old building.... read more

Stayed with friends at their campsite near Blanchetown, and spend some relaxing time on the river. Had an opportunity to get out behind the boat for a ski. Fell off a few times to enjoy the water.... read more

A short trip to the Barossa Valley staying in the Novotel Resort. The view from the room and from the Restaurant is great. A wonderful layout of buildings just below the rim of the hill, arced around the valley leading down to the river. The grounds were landscaped with a mixture of Australian natives and small groups of vines. During dinner we watched the weather pass over the hills on the other side of the valley. The hills were hidden beneath rain clouds, then bathed in a deep orange during sunset. The food was good for both dinner and at the breakfast service. The wines were overpriced which was strange when your in the heart of the vineyards. There are plenty of walks in the resort and along the river, and the golf course just over ... read more
