Hola, Us again....thought we'd try to get you all up to date as we have access to a pretty fast computer here in sunny Uruguay! From Iguazu Falls we headed south on a nightmare bus journey to Buenos Aires. It took us almost 24 hours due to faulty air conditioning meaning several frustrating hours waiting in a bus station in the middle of the night. Not worth boring you with the details as there's so much good stuff to tell you about. We spent a night in Buenos Aires before catching a flight down to Patagonia. From the first moment we talked about going on a year long trip, Patagonia was the place top of Em's list so we were very excited. We landed in freezing cold conditions surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains.....and this is ... read more

UPDATED WITH PHOTO'S Hola Chicos, I know I know, it´s been a while. We´ve literally just been too busy having an amazing time. Some of the most amazing parts of the trip have happened in the last few weeks. So last time we wrote, we were in Santiago......seems like a looooong time ago. I did realise that we forgot to mention one of the hotels we asked for a room in Santiago asked us if we wanted it for an hour or overnight!!!!! Classy....needless to say we didn´t stay there...pretty funny though. So from Santiago we moved through a couple of places pretty quickly due to bad weather. We were particularly disappointed about the Lake District on the Chilean side (it spans both Chile and Argentina) as we didn´t manage to see much due to the ... read more

Hola Everyone, So it´s been a while, last time we wrote we were at Machu Pichu. From there we moved on to Puno in the south of Peru. The town itself was less than inspiring but we were lucky enough to be there for the annual festival which saw people from the surrounding villages turn out in their hundreds. The costumes were beautiful and the dancing fantastic. Chris´s favourite being the men pretending to be drunk and swinging their sticks and (empty) bottles around their heads. It was a great experience to see all the traditional dancing as well as the outfits. Puno sits on the shores of the overwhelmingly beautiful Lake Titicaca where we embarked on a three day boat tour to take in three of the most stunning islands. First we visited the Uros ... read more

Hi Everyone, Here we go again but check it out....we´ve worked out how to put a few photos on!!! Peru has been arguably our favourite country on the whole trip. That really is some statement but literally every place we´ve visited has been special. From Lima we headed south to the desert oasis that is Huacachina. Originally we thought this may just be a convenient stop for the night on our way to bigger and better things but we were delighted by what we found. The ´town´(it´s tiny) is nestled amid gigantic sand dunes, the jewel of a lake is surrounded by palm trees and the view from the top of the dunes is like a real oasis out of a comic book. Climbing the steep dunes wasn´t half as much fun as running down. If ... read more

Warning Warning !! Some of the content in this blog is pretty gross, thought we´d warn you all in advance. It was really sad to leave Lake Atitlan in Guatemala as we´d spent quite a long time there and really got to know the place. Still, that´s the nature of our trip and as always there have been plenty of other amazing places to keep us occupied. Antigua was next and we loved it. We spent a few days wandering around cobblestone streets under the gaze of ancient ruins and centuries old churches. As always, some of our favourite memories involve the food which in Antigua included the liquado. For about 12p, they are basically frozen milkshakes....(no not ice creams), with whole pieces of fruit in them. Just awesome, we became quickly addicted. It´s strange travelling ... read more

Hi everyone (go get yourself a coffee....this is quite a long one!), So where were we....looks like the last you heard we were in Acapulco.....is that right? Yes....? Ok then we´ll start from there. It was such a hardship spending a couple of days at the beach that we decided we should...er....go for another couple of days on a fabulous beach. Huatulco in the state of Oaxaca (pronounced Wa-ha-ka) has a few awesome seasides so we picked one and spent a couple of days looking around and being a bit lazy. The highlight was the world´s best spring roll which we located in a lovely little Chinese restaurant, where we had a little balcony for two overlooking the millpond like sea. I´m drooling just thinking about it. Travelling about this area, we have mainly used what´s ... read more

Buenos Tardes Amigos (and Amigas), We are in hot hot hot Mexico and loving every second. After leaving Miami we flew to Cancun, home of drunk Americans on Spring Break but more importantly the rebirth of our haggling skills and looking for the cheapest accommodation. We only spent one night in Cancun because basically there´s not a lot going on if you´re away from the massively out of our budget type hotels. Isla Mujeres on the other hand was just right for us. As well as meaning ´the island of women´it is also the inspriation behind Madonna´s song ´La Isla Bonita´ (Specially for you Chris the elder - dancing around the kitchen). The island itself has sadly been hugely overdeveloped, but nothing can detract from it having the most amazing turquoise blue sea and white sandy ... read more

Hello you lot, we thought we'd better give you all an update on our trip seeing as we go to Mexico tomorrow. This poxy computer doesn't allow me to get pictures from our camera onto this so you'll have to make do with my ramblings. Hopefully we'll be able to sort some pictures again further into the trip. So, we were in Philly last time we wrote, well we headed to Nashville after that for the epic 4th July celebrations. It was amazingly hot and humid so we spent the day trying to find anywhere with some shade. Being the 'music city' we weren't disappointed with the number of live bands playing throughout the day, we got quite into the yeeeehaaa country and western!!! Nashville had the 2nd biggest fireworks display in the USA so we ... read more

Hi you lot, Back on the road! We've just had a couple of hectic weeks back in England dancing the night away at Julie and John's wicked wedding, meeting the gorgeous baby joseph, sorting out our house and visiting our lovely families. It was great to see so many of you. But now......we are now stateside. Awesome dude, high five and all that malarky! It all started with a bang as we voluntarily got bumped from our original flight. For the sake of 2 hours longer waiting at heathrow we were given $400 cash each!!!....and an upgrade to premium economy. To be honest it was a well needed stroke of luck to boost our quickly diminishing travel fund. Washington was a nice gentle way to reintroduce ourselves to the honeymoon. Slightly different from our arrival in ... read more

Seems like lots of people didn't get this one so here it is again....!! Next one will be coming at ya from somewhere in the Americas....... Hope you're all well. Cd and Em xx Hi Everyone, Africa has been absolutely amazing. We started off in Zanzibar where Em celebrated her birthday in style in our 5 star resort. The hotel was just out of this world and we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the ridiculously turquoise sea. On the big day itself we also managed to blag the 'private diners table'.....just us two in our own right on the beach. Needless to say it was one of the highlights of the trip so far. Zanzibar was the perfect way to begin in Africa and definately what we needed with what was about to come on ... read more
