26/7/2008 Today was pretty much a day where I had stayed at home and studied as we have our finals on Monday and an oral presentation on Tuesday! One of the highlights I guess was when I visited the markets down in Paseo Recoleta! I brought me some nice presents which I have been saving for…as for me there is still some space in my luggage! After that it wasn’t really a very interesting day, I guess just studied(at least tried in Buenos Aires) for most of the day…. 27/7/2008 Alright!!! I don’t normally begin my blogs with such energy but [View Full Entry]

24/7/08 After class today I decided to go to the bohemian side of town in Buenos Aires…Officially it has all the punk, alternative and in general its like a mix of Newtown, Venice Beach with some urban fashion in the nick…this area Palermo Soho just rocked….I brought so much cool clothing I was almost late in meeting a friend after for dinner, drinks and fun… When I finally finished shopping i skipped all the way to Palermo Hollywood, which is where all the groovy bars and restaurants are…in between is Palermo Viejo…which to some that up is [View Full Entry]

21/7/2008 Today in Buenos Aires happened to be the worst day, weather wise, as soon as I woke up… it just started pouring non-stop…As you are overseas, you don’t just happen to have an umbrella lying around out of nowhere…! I don’t know why, but it must be due to being overseas as well…when it is raining cats and dogs outside, no one in the right mind would even think about going outside in general…Not only was I naive. I literally at the time had a foot the size of king kong probably stuck in my head as I decided to [View Full Entry]

Today I woke up literally before dawn as we had to get to the port really early in the morning to get to Montevideo! This time everything was smooth as we had arrived really early and got into a nice posh boat with its own duty free shop and stores inside whilst you’re travelling to Uruguay. When we finally arrived in Montevideo, for some reason being near the Cuidad Vieja, which is famous for its artistic side of things, Montevideo overall, I felt was much more peaceful, nicer and less daunting than Buenos Aires, even though they have a lot of [View Full Entry]

17/7/2008 After class today, I had decided to go downtown and do a bit of shopping, it was cool to find so many stuff like Billabong and Quiksilver brands which were from Oz here in BA….I said to myself I wuldnt get them only because it is kinda lame to be buying stuff you could get in Aus for more or less the same price. But, after seeing a pair of Havaianas, I decided it was too tempting not to get a pair for around 10 aud dollars. As I was still feeling kind of ill, so I decided not to [View Full Entry]

15/7/2008 Today, after class…I’d went to Avenida Sante Fe and got myself a nice pair of limited edition converse…After that I decided to meet up with a friend from uni in Palermo around where he lives and just hung out near Palermo Viejo and Hollywood(hahaha, I know that’s where all the clubs are as well). It was also cool to hang out with all his friends and one of them no joke was a Mexican, who happens to be from Cholula. Like no way, get out of town, ni guey!!! I had a lot of fun just getting to know all [View Full Entry]

11/7/2008 We decided after class, the girls I’m staying with to take a bus all the way to Mendoza! Yeah, for those of you who aren’t quite sure where in the world Carmen Sandiego like dadada Mendoza, is near the border of Chile-Argentina! So yeah, is was pretty hectic….It took such a long time to get there, the food they served on the bus was either ham and cheese or ham and cheese! 12/7/2008 When we finally got there, it was already like close to 11am, due to the fact that the bus was a bit late (think Mexican Mexican time).. 8/7/08 Today I decided to go shopping in the streets of Avenida Santa Fe and Corrientes. I got me some nice clothes and after class we decided to go and play some indoor soccer with people from our uni. I must admit the place was awesome it was literally under a bridge and very street football like. After that I meant this Chinese guy who spoke pretty fluent Spanish and told me why he was here (in Buenos Aires) trying to make ends meet, and basically was kind enough to teach and give me some advice about the local customs and [View Full Entry]

Today I got up and decided before my class would begin that I wanted to take a walk along the different parks and Museums in Barrio Norte, which is just an area near where I live. It was kinda exciting doing all the walking on my own and having such freedom especially when I was at the Floralis Generica (this giant flower dish) where looking at all the tourist with their guides and really being stuffed with info after info, I just felt in a way that I was glad I’m discovering all this on my own and that I have [View Full Entry]
