21/7/2008 Today in Buenos Aires happened to be the worst day, weather wise, as soon as I woke up… it just started pouring non-stop…As you are overseas, you don’t just happen to have an umbrella lying around out of nowhere…!
I don’t know why, but it must be due to being overseas as well…when it is raining cats and dogs outside, no one in the right mind would even think about going outside in general…Not only was I naive. I literally at the time had a foot the size of king kong probably stuck in my head as I decided to go and check out the north area of Buenos Aires like Belgrano and Las Cañitas….oh yeah, did I get a FREE shower…so good I arrived to class not only later and but when I sat down, it felt like an iceberg had just melted!!!
After class I ran home and that’s exactly where I stayed for most of the night!!! What a pity!!!
22/7/2008 Finally, with the rain cleared and the sky getting a bit better I decided to finish off the mission…hahaha yeah I will repeat that ‘mission’ of trying to get Las Cañitas out of my list!
Las Cañitas is just basically an area north where it is famous for its stadiums (soccer) polo and horse racing….but there is a nice lake there as well….the Hipodromo Argentino is famous for where the horse racings are held…just think Buenos aires’ answer to moore park… near it, is where a couple of lower division soccer clubs are based (probably miles technically better than the a-league) and Campo Argentino a nice but posh polo club…
I managed to do all that and also walked all the way up to Belgrano which is famous for having a Chinatown (barrio chino) area because it was very far from downtown BA and having class starting soon…I didnt actually get to the hot spot of China centrl but I did get to see some familiar faces(hahaha)
After class…I went out really late…but normal 11ish prime eating time in Argentina to a nice restaurant in Palermo called Miranda for my friend who is leaving to go back to her home in the States…we had a good meal and went out for a bit to a cozy kinda club but didn’t stay long..
