After 4 days and 3 nights enjoying Mykonos island it was time to say our goodbyes... it was good times and mixed with a few bad ones... but in total it was an amazing experience... I did told my friend Arlene it's just impossible for me to live there for the whole summer because I know I'm going to die early... with their crazy partying and insane drinking... not only my health will start to deplete but also my wallet... so I would say it was a bitter sweet goodbye... although it's one of the places I'd definetely go back to.... Off we go to our cruise ship... it's my first time in a internaional cruise tour and so far I'm liking it. The boat itself are curently hosting 1000+ people... it's not the biggest but ... read more

Europe » Greece » South Aegean » Mykonos July 30th 2010

So after a long 9.5 hours direct flight from Toronto my friend and I finally arrived to Athens... we were welcomed by a beautiful scenery of mountains surrounding the airport... right away we were called by our travel agent and was led to the bus... It was a definite short ride from Athens to the port where we climbed aboard a ferry transfer to the island of Mykonos.... Though when my friend and I arrived to the airport at Athens, we found that some vendors were somwhat rude.... maybe it's their own way or so but I have greek friends back home and they've always been nice and very inviting but whatever! I will obviously not let anything like that ruin my trip... I was rather surprise when I noticed a lot of yellow taxis... they ... read more

North America » Canada » Quebec » Québec City July 23rd 2010

So we literally just arrived to Quebec City after a gruelling 8 hour drive from Toronto... and guess what, our hotel had to deliver us a bad news... we can't check in before 2pm... so there we were.... no sleep since we left Toronto at 1200am right after my shift in the hospital and we're dead tired and we can't even get a shower or even a little shut eye... But we're a trooper... and definetely won't let a little bad news ruin our trip so we head straight down to Quebec City's 'lower town' or what they call 'Basse Ville'.... It's my second visit to Quebec city and I vaguely remember the place... again because I used to not appreciate what we have in our own backyard... with the thought of 'hey it's just there ... read more

It never occured to me that I'm taking the simple beauty for granted... Here I was dedicated to travel this year yet I'm missing something... and finally it dawned to me... the beauty and paradise just beyond my backyard.... So since this is a travelblog... and even though small distances we do still travel... I thought of sharing what we have in Ontario here.... Ontario is a big province of Canada and it's where a lot of things happens... especially in my cuty Toronto.... I'd say that with all of the provinces, Ontario is the most populated one.... the diversity of the city of Toronto and its greater area is amazing... I must say that of any parts of Ontario, the feeling of being in Toronto is just sublime.... this is where you will see and ... read more

I'm physically exhausted... I literally just got back from a 4 days 3 nights trip to the 'Big Apple'... mind you it's long driving with friends and even if I didn't really contributed with the driving on the way back... being curled up in the car, sleeping crooked and unconfortable beside your friends really doesn't help.... like I've said at this point I'm physically tired..... But I got the phone call from one of my college friends in nursing... she invited me to come with them to Hollywood... since her boyfriend is a manager of Air Canada we got mad hook ups... and I mean seriously mad hook ups... I don't know how to even emphasize that!... Anyways, so I am gone again... for the second round.... second dose of travelling just the weekend after the ... read more

'In New York, Concrete jungle where dreams are made of, There's nothing you can't do, Now you're in New York, These streets will make you feel brand new, The lights will inspire you, Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York' I've visited New York before but I didn't really get the real feel of being a New Yorker. Since I live in Toronto, New York for me is another city... or is it? When a whole bunch of us re-visited New York, and this time we stayed right at the busy streets of Manhattan... this place is not just a big city... but just like the song of Jay-Z... it's a concrete jungle... filled people's hope and dreams to become big one day. The best restaurants with the best known chefs are situated ... read more

Asia » Cambodia » North » Siem Reap May 4th 2010

I've always dreamed of seeing Angkor Wat for as long as I can remember and this year, I packed my bags and off I go.... Cambodia is a country completely misunderstood... a lot of people see it as somewhere dangerous due to land mines and because of the war that had been going on for so many years. And because of the war, tourists had avoided visiting this beautiful, exotic country full of history and relics still yet to discover. Our Cambodian guide did say, the cambodians are very tired of war... they just want to look forward to a better future... as of today, a war against the thais are going on because of a Khmer historical monument that is sitting right by the two countries that Thailand and Cambodia are fighting to decide who ... read more

Asia » Vietnam » Southeast » Ho Chi Minh City » Cu Chi May 3rd 2010

I've always enjoyed war movies dating from the World War I and World War II... it's a shame how I've 'only' heard of the war in Vietnam but have no clue what it's all about.... how it started.... and how it ended... I must admit that it was more of a disturbing shock for me when I saw the other side (the vietnam side, since being in Canada all I see is the hollywood american war heroes) of the war during my visit at the Cu Chi Tunnel... and after I visited the War Remnants Museum at Ho Chi Minh it opened my eyes to the reality of war and what exactly happened during the Vietnam War... something more than the eye can explain... reading the description of the war remnants and seeing the pictures of ... read more

Asia » Vietnam » Southeast » Ho Chi Minh City April 30th 2010

Finally after a long brutal and excruciating flight from Toronto, we arrived at Ho Chi Minh City, which was the old Saigon... I remember leaving Canada really cold so I was really excited on our trip to a warm country such as Vietnam... So we got up and did our usual airport routine, we waited till our luggae arrive in that conveyer just like everyone else standing and staring what seemed like an endless belt carrying people's precious belongings around and around... all everyone can do really is to cross their fingers and hope the next luggage that comes out of that hole is yours.... if you really think about it, it's a surprise... and how awesome would it be if your luggae is ever the first one to come out... but of course that never ... read more
