It never occured to me that I'm taking the simple beauty for granted... Here I was dedicated to travel this year yet I'm missing something... and finally it dawned to me... the beauty and paradise just beyond my backyard....
So since this is a travelblog... and even though small distances we do still travel... I thought of sharing what we have in Ontario here....
Ontario is a big province of Canada and it's where a lot of things happens... especially in my cuty Toronto.... I'd say that with all of the provinces, Ontario is the most populated one.... the diversity of the city of Toronto and its greater area is amazing... I must say that of any parts of Ontario, the feeling of being in Toronto is just sublime.... this is where you will see and meet people around the globe... eat and share their cultures.... its a place where it motivates a person to reach out and go on a journey around the world... well, at least for me that is the case....
This weekend I was exeptionally syked about our trip to Tobermory, it's a 3.5 hours drive from Toronto... going NorthWest.... but's a great escape
from the city.... I've heard of it before but never really been.... so hence my journey begins...
I love love love camping at least min of once a year... but its a must.... I've live in the city for most of my life and it's great to escape from the hustle and bustle once awhile... and since Toronto is the closest thing we'll get from NYC... here I was in the car.... heading to the Bruce Peninsula National Park.... to witness what people call 'one of the nicest beach and place to go to'... at least for nature watching... here in Ontario...
So as we drove all the way and finally reached Tobermory.... we decided to set foot on a hiking journey....
We were not prepared at all... with no flashlights... or bottle of water... and only walking on our slippers... we hiked... and we found this amazing beach!... it's unbelievable.... I've lived in Toronto for so long and I've not seen a beach this nice at least....
After doodling around the beauty of the beach... of course we didn't exactly swim in it cuz again we we're prepared... and plus the water is 5 degress
C but really feels a lot colder.... we decided to hike some more....
I've hiked in the Philippines before or even in Mexico and as well as different parts of camp grounds in Ontario but nothing was like this.... at first they warn you in the facility just before you enter the trail that there might be some wild animals and to enter at your own risk... they said.... they only have bears, snakes, deers, cayotes, and other sorts of birds in there....
So I thought... nice! What are the chances of bumping into one anyways right!?!....
So we hiked for about 30 mins before we reached the first lookout... I started to wonder what have I got myself into... first I was wearing slippers, then the sun was going down.... we have no flashlights or even water.... and we were literally in the middle of the forest!... It was amazing to be in there.... and the feeling of thrill because in every corner there's nothing but trees, algae on some trunks on the ground, more trees and their roots growing above the ground and little chip munks and squirrels and spiders.... but that's fine.... except that
once in awile we heard some snapping of twigs nearby and it's can't be myself or my boyfriend... but it's definetlly coming from somewhere else...
No other choice but to move forward... and move on.... but the hiking was instense I give it a med star.... but since I was wearing the wrong gear... it's a hard... lol
It was amazing.... it was a long way back but the experience and what lies beyond the hiking was a view to see... in the end it was worth it...
