So our shopping days made a permanent imprint... Clothes shopping; those were the days! And to think I would take the 4 of you at the same time when there was a really good day. I look back and wonder how you survived. Curious; how do the sizes compare to American? What fabrics and styles are common for men's wear? Is polyester in style? Hopefully not. Glad you are set for work. Have you begun? If so what is it like and what are you working on presently.
Housten...Housten...We have a landing! Hi son,
Nice pad! You will have to tell us more about your room mates as you get to know them. How does it work out to share a fridge amongst 4 people? It must be crammed! I am so glad to hear that all is going well. When is your first day of work? I hope all goes well. I have been burning my wick at both ends with school and the committees I am on. Miss you son but am so happy you are having the time of your life in seeing new places! Rest well. Mom
Great to hear from you! Just got back from trip to St. Louis and Chicago and then a weeks vacation, so just caught up with your exploits. Glad you're not wandering the streets aimlessly (I was worried you'ld become a bum...HaHa). The place looks wonderful with so much to see and do, not to mention what sounds like very interesting employment.
Wish you all the luck in the world! I'm more than a little envious! Brad
Thanks for subscirbing me I have your alerts coming to my blackberry and enjoy reading on down time. Set some of the flower pics as my phone wallpaper. When do I get to come visit! :)
Any luck with the camera hunt? I can ask around work for suggestions if you are still looking.
cooking It sounds like you have good fun with your flat mates. This recipe sounds very good. I will try it too.
We love your travel documentary! And we love today's news in advance!!!!
Love, Aunt Teresia
Cheers to the asparagus. Sweet as, bro!! You know you will miss the good ole YHA. Well, just the smell anyway. Keep in touch, I like hearing your adventures!
Thanks for the continuing blogs! Donavin, your new digs look great, very comfortable and appealing. Melinda and I enjoy reading about your latest adventures and about the fascinating friends that you are meeting in NZ. Your search for compatible room mates reminded me of my experiences as a young guy. The guy I roomed with was silent until he had a drink, so on the week ends I heard a lot from him! Melinda has done a lot of backpacking and I some in the earlier years of our marriage. Spending a week end up in the Cascades, in the rain, was not my bag, how ever positive my mind set was! We're most happy about your landing your position and congratulate you on your success. Is your e-mail address still the same? Jim Lesniak
Home at last We are so very happy that you have such a comfortable home! We love your accounts of the days! Thank you for taking time to share with us. Please tell us more about your work place.
We just had your Mom and Bill over to celebrate John's birthday. They brought champagne and berry pie. It was so good to hear the positive tests results for Bill.
Much love, Aunt Teresia and JOhn
Mahalo Nui Loa! Or "thank you [more than you can know] for including me. Very excited to 'hear' from you. 1st 'blog' I've ever visited & not sure how you joined or what it's costing you, but thank you for including me. Are you taking donations? Has 'work' started yet? You, remember, right? The 'reason' for heading to NZ was to 'work', yes? While visiting NZ back in '68 [w/a cold], some Aussie "Marines" intro'd me to the 'local' beer vs. directing me to a 'drug' store. Don't remember getting over the cold, but met some great people who are friends to this day. Haven't heard much about "340" but don't know if you really want to know about that kind of stuff anyway. Had eye surgery last Friday to correct a problem I've had since ejecting out of the backseat of a F4J Phantom on Th:11.21.1968 [who remembers dates?] This is addicting. Better stop now. Talk to you when

Nice to hear from you!! Donavin -
I'm glad to finally hear from you. I just received your last 3 blogs on my computer this morning (August 28th). I'm happy for you (and a little envious) that you are continuing your world tour - it sounds like you are having a great time and meeting lots of interesting people. Please continue to send your e-mails. Have a great time.
I wish I had discovered this blog years ago. I did the mass email update for my previous adventures (United States and Europe) and now have no online documentation to share with fellow travelers.
To the chagrin of some friends and family wanderlust has struck again. I managed to stay focused for nearly a year and a half in a job related to my college education, however the desire to travel has grown strong again and can no longer be suppressed.
I have secured a 12 month Visa for New Zealand and hope to document this adventure for posterity, or at least the life of the TravelBlog.
