Hi, After spending a relaxing week on the South Island with the inlaws, we wanted to share some of our favourite moments. We've had fantastic weather for the best part of the week and what with the South Island being notorious for its four seasons in one day, well yep, we experienced that too. Whale watching at Kaikoura has to be the highlight of the hol for us all. We were fortunate enough to see 4 sperm whales. Such elegant creatures. We hope everyone is keeping well and look forward to seeing you all over the Xmas period. All our love and huge hugs, that we're really missing from eveyone, Tom and Becks ... read more

Hi everyone, It's been a while since we blogged you about our life in New Zealand, so we felt an update is what some of you may have wished for. Work is going very well with both of us in full time jobs. Becca is still working for the boutique shop in town, and I am teaching a year two class in a lovely catholic school just outside of Wellington until the end of the year. After much confusion and stress regarding our return flights, we have booked our return journey and arrive in the UK very shortly before Christmas. We have just spent the last few days up north playing in the mountain snow and indulging in natural spas in Rotorua. The sleepy towns of Taupo and Rotorua are quite quiet but all the same ... read more

Hi All, Becca and I are both well and enjoying life in Wellington. We have little to tell at the moment other than we are sooooooo broke and can't wait to get paid. It's going to feel like winning the lottery as I haven't been paid since December 2007.So we have not really done anything overly exciting, other than get as much work as we can so we can go off for weekends and see more of the country. I had the weirdest of experiences on Thursday! I was working at a lovely school in one of the suburbs around Wellington when I bumped into an old friend that I had lost touch with a few years back. We did the Alpha course back in 2002. Rob Tugwell and I spent a few social times with ... read more

Becca and Tom have fallen in love with THE most BEAUTIFUL country. Every corner you turn, a new, stunning view is waiting for you. Jaw dropping scenery that tops the lake district in our opinion. We have been so lucky with the weather (touch wood) and would like the photos to speak we have taken to speak for themselves. We hope that everyone enjoyed the snow you were blessed with in April. What was that all about?! Enjoy the photos peeps and keep those messages coming Love you all Tom and Becks p.s A big congratulations to sissy Dalton who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl called Grace. And Kirsty for the birth of Cameron Wallace.... read more

After a tiresome 30 hour journey from the Philippinnes to Christchurch, we couldn't wait to touch down in NZ. Our flight flew across the mountain ranges of the South Island, and gave us a taster of what was to come on our travels here! After 14 hours sleep in Christchurch on our first night we thought we had got over the jet lag really well. However, we didn't sleep at all well for three nights thereafter. Christchurch is very much like home from home and a bit of a culture shock having been in SE Asia for 2 and half months. No street sellers in your face or sewerage trickling down the gutter. Beautiful botanical gardens and quaint little tea rooms confused us somewhat after the hussle and bussle of street life in SE Asia. Chrsitchurch ... read more

Just to keep you all posted. We have a couple more days in the Philis and then we are off to Christchurch, NZ on a 30 hour journey via Hong Kong and Sydney. What a way to spend Easter Day! I guess we will have to indulge in roast NZ lamb when we get there. The Philippinnes has been a perfect final chapter of our travels in SE Asia. The locals are just so friendly and shocked when we tell them we come from England. 'Ahhh England! So far away' they say. The freshly baked banana bread and mango shakes are awesome as a breakfast treat. And we've been indulging in them everyday. We have done a little research into Nz and the stunning sights we want to see, but other than that, we're gonna go ... read more

Hi all, Not hude amounts to report on at the moment. We have arrived safe and well in the Philippinnes after a real rough night in a cockroach infested room in Cebu. And the room was absolutley filthy. We were so gload to get out of that joint. We are staying in a beach hut with about a minutes walk to the famous white beach of Boracy. It's very beautiful, hot and sunny. We have decided to stay put for a few days and recharge our batteries again before the touring resumes in NZ. We will get some photo's to you in a short while but right now, the beach awaits and Tom and Becca must top up their bronze tans! All our love Tom and Becca... read more

We are absolutely loving Vietnam. We haven't done everthing we wanted to, but have adored the sights we have seen. The Vietnamese people love to rip you off, thats for sure, but on the other hand they really do have a lovely sense of humour and conversing with them is a delight! We have missed alot of the cities in Vietnam, mainly because we wanted to visit Sapa (near to the China border). Having looked at the calender, we realised that we haven't enough time to visit this wonderful place and go to Halong Bay aswell. Halong Bay was magical. When we arrived at the harbour, we were told by our guide that the bay caters for 900 boats. Half of these are for sleeping on and the other half for day trips. We tought that ... read more
