In response to a fine blog entry by Mr Cowan and the constant chat about quoting each others blogs, I have finally decided to blog-jack some text from the infamous 'Billy Blog'. So read on for some delightful prose from the keyboard of the Kutchan Information centre on the 28th December 2007 ... "1. Merry Christmas to you all!!! Here's a few new photos to keep you posted on our goings on in Japan. All is good here ... The job is picking up a bit and I've done some good backcountry and cat skiing training. Our accomodation is still pretty rubbish and Nick and I have still only taught a few lessons each but this is set to pick up in the busy months ahead. Hey! In Sapporo now. Caught the plane up yesterday . It was a good call on the flight - 40quid and it took around an hour ........... not such a good call on the hostel. We've been punished for badmouthing backpackers as this place is completely empty - thats not an exaggeration, its actually empty apart from us. Not a single other westerner to be seen. * We had a wander yesterday - much quieter than Tokyo but it still has a good feel to it . Its reminicent of Vancouver in the way the mountains are visible to the west and its one of the few Japanaese cities that has adopted a US style street grid system . Ok, i'm starting up with this blog now .... i'll get onto posting a few photos with comments on soon and this 'blog' will predominately follow this format. I don't really want to write loads and bang-on about crap stories/ classic times/ hilarious moments etc, but until we get to Niseko and get established enough to upload a few photos i'll do a bit of writing.... We stayed in Asakusa, Tokyo for 5 nights. Hard to sum up the whole experience we had there in so few words so i'll bullet point some highlights: * felt ill and jetlagged for about 80% of the time * we met this Aussie girl called Sarah on the plane - she'd worked in Tokyo for a few years as a DJ and told us a few places to visit. ... read more
