Hey Y'all, Well its been some time since we last wrote and we have been up to lots, as always! Since leaving Phoenix, Arizona, we arrived in Wyoming to stay with family. Since we have been here we have travelled around and spent time in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Montanna and South Dakota. During this time we have been camping american style, played in a mud volleyball tournament, been to a baseball match, hiked in the rocky mountains, been to a water park, toured the Budweiser factory, went to a rodeo, attended a family reunion (that wasnt either of our families!), taken a 2000+ mile road trip, had a free outdoor pancake breakfast (after queueing for an hour), visited Yellowstone and seen a bear and went to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse! So, its been a ... read more

Howdy all, Well we are at last here in our final destination of our trip, the USA and after spending three and a half months travelling through South America, it is all change.....again! After a long couple of days and a night on the Lima Airport floor, and taking off from San Salvador in a tropical monsoon like thunder and lightening storm we finally arrived in Los Angeles and headed for the hostel. We were greeted at the airport by our first crazy American who picked us up in a van blasting out old school american rock at four in the morning, and we knew then that we had truely arrived. We spent a couple of nights at our first hostel in a more than slightly suspect area of LA, Inglewood, which in a way was ... read more

Well, over a year after booking it finally arrived! Hey everyone, after some recent ups and downs we have had a fantastic last four days hiking through the cloud forest, sleeping under canvas and eventually arriving at the amazing Inca site of Macchu Picchu! We had been preparing ourselves for the Inca Trail here in Peru for a long time and the 27th of May was our beginning....or so we thought! The day before we found out that there was a national strike in Peru on the following (our departure) day which meant that it would be too dangerous to leave the city by road as people would be demonstrating by throwing rocks at any vehicles daring to break the strike. So, we had no option but to leave that night and we eventually made it ... read more

Hey there folks, well following our last blog from San Pedro in northern Chile after our triumphant return from Bolivia we promised that we would blog just a few days later with some amazing photos of our time there and the 4 day tour that we took from Uyuni back into Chile where we saw the worlds biggest and most dazzling salt flats, flamingos, smoking volcanos, steaming geysers and high altitude coloured lakes where we reached over 5100 meters altitude and slept under a tin roof at more than minus 15 degrees! Overall, we had so much to tell and more importantly show you with the amazing photos that we took on the trip. However, that is where our luck ran out as we were propmtly robbed while on board a bus from San Pedro and ... read more

Hey all, Again it seems like soo long ago that we last updated you with our travels, and since then we have again covered a lot of miles! We left Iguazu Falls in Argentina and decided to head west and across into Bolivia for the next chunk of our trip. This was easier said than done and we boarded our first overnight bus which took us 25 hours to a town called Tucuman (still in Argentina) where we then had a wait of 13 hours before our next 12 hour night bus to the boarder town of Salvador Mazza. We eventually reached the boarder and were dumped in the middle of nowhere when some "friendly" locals offered to help us get across the boarder (but not before someone tried to pinch some things from Alices bag ... read more

Hey there everyone! The last time we wrote we had just left Buenos Aires and were in Rosario the birth place of Che Guevara and the Argentine flag. After spending a few days there we headed North to Puerto Iguzu, the home of the incredible Iguazu falls! After a 17 hour bus journey we arrived at the small town, which is right on the Brazil and Paraguay boarder. The town itself was kind of strange, it was a nice place with lots of modern bars and restaurants (which seemed really strange as it was in the middle of no where with dusty streets and rainforest all around) but with no one to to fill them, the place seemed deserted! Our plan was to recover from our long journey that night and head out to explore the ... read more

Now, as you have probably gathered from our past blogs, neither Alice or I are big "city people", however, there is always an exception to the rule and Buenos Aires is it!! We began in Bariloche, the south american chocolate town and spent a few more days by the lakes and mountains before heading north on our 25 hour bus journey! It was the longest we have done so far and wasn´t without a story, of course! About 7 hours into the journey we came to a blockaded road where protesters had completely shut it off and cutting the south from the north of the country completely! So, we sat on the roadside and watched the sunset over the hills for nearly three hours before the police finally came, put out the fires, moved the trucks, ... read more

Right...here we go again, we have lots to tell since we last wrote. After leaving Pucon we hopped on a bus which took us three and a half hours down the road to Valdivia, a small German settled town just inland on the river. We only stayed for one night but while we were there we wandered around the local fish market where the fishermen were filleting their catch and tossing the scraps over their shoulder in to the river to feed the Giant Sea Lions who would swim up and catch the fish in their mouths or flop up on to the bank to catch some rays! Before our day was over we returned to the fish market just as it was closing and a lady on a nearby stall let Ally try fresh raw ... read more
