Well first of all, Happy New Years and and hope you all had a great time off over christmas....for us it continues! Hello All, Well, the last time we wrote we were coming to the end of our stay in Melbourne before heading out to the bright lights of Sydney! Well "how are ya" from Melbourne? Since we last wrote we have had a huge change in basically everything, food, weather, people, culture, roads, hostels....and penguins! It has been a massive change coming from Asia where we had such great experiences and we've both found it quite difficult to get used to the change so far! Well hello again and welcome to the next installment of our travels! Last time we wrote it was monsoon rain on the island of Koh Lanta and we have been up to lots since then. The rain eventually stopped after about 18 hours of torrential downpour so we spent the next few days on the island. It was nice and with good sunsets but nothing compared to where we had come from. Right, where do we start? We have been up to so much since our last entry where we only had a few days left in Chiang Mai. Hey there all, just a quick note to let you know what we have been up to while we have some free time here is Chiang Mai! Since we last wrote, we have been to Doi Suthep the holiest place in Northern Thailand with lots of history, explored the city on our very own sky blue moped easy rider style, visited the Chang Dao caves, the Meo village, a slightly suspect butterfly and orchid farm, and the karen longneck hill tribe! Hello again everyone, we have so much to tell since the last time we wrote....and pictures too! We are Now in Chiang Mai after our 11 hour train journey turned into 14, and then into 16 in reality! It was long but comfortable and we managed to get some rest which was well needed after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok! Here is Chiang Mai it is less hectic than Bangkok but loads to see and do in and around the city, its still pretty hot but much cleaner air which has been really nice. Sawat Dia! (Hello!) ....From a hot and sticky Bangkok! Just to let you all know we arrived here safe and sound and have been soaking it up for the last few days! It is crazy busy, polluted, vibrant, eccentric and colourful! The food is awsome an its costing us a whopping 90p a night to eat out!!! The people seem really cool and we have already made friends with a gangster monk and the national guard! (Photos to follow!) Ally has already eaten a grasshopper!! (Eeew!)
