Last Game
One last picture in the park before I have to say goodbye until spring. Normal 0 false false false EN-US KO X-NONE
Hello all! It’s been a good couple of days. I had a two day week last week (Thursday and Friday), and then my weekend. That’s always cause for celebration. Friday night was pretty uneventful. I stayed in and relaxed a little because I knew with Saturday being the last baseball game I wanted to conserve energy. Haha.
Saturday was the final baseball game of the Korean Baseball Organization, and of the
LG Twins. And because the Twins stunk this year they didn’t come close to making the playoffs. So this game was our last until spring. Sad, I know… In any event, my friends and I did our best to make sure the baseball season went out on a high note. Our tickets were pretty decent and the beer was oh so cold! J LG ended up winning their final game 1 – 0 over
the
Doosan Bears. I was glad to see one last win!
After the game my group, which consisted of nine people, headed to Shincheon (a section of Seoul that neighbors Jamsil and the Olympic Sports complex). We all headed to Noraebang (노래방), but not just any Noraebang… It was one where you basically eat a feast of an assortment of foods. From chicken to this egg dish, to a large shrimp salad (which of course you know I didn’t eat the salad because I don’t eat sea food, sad I know), and then some. The meal was topped off with meakju (맥주,beer),
Soju (소주) and about 200 minutes of karaoke time. Haha. Needless to say we all had a fun night! By about 2:00am is was time to find a cab home.
Sunday, as usual, is R&R day (Relax & Recover). I went to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants,
Pho Mein, with a friend and spent the remainder of the evening hanging out with said friend. So all in all it was a pretty fun weekend.
Oh, last night while I was out walking around
Donkaseu (돈가스)
Delicious! Fried pork cutlet with rice, dipping sauce, a broth soup kinda thing, some cabbage with dressing, and three tator-tots. I found a small little restaurant that serves this pork cutlet meal I really enjoy. I haven’t really had the chance to have it since I’ve been back in Korea. On my way home from work tonight I decided to stop and have a quick meal. The pork cutlet is called
donkaseu (돈가스) and it’s very delicious, mainly because it’s deep fried. Haha.
Anyways, that is the 411 on my last handful of days. All hope all is well back in the US. Until next time…
