Look I'll jump right into it this place is great. Stepped off the plane to be chauffeured off to the resort (Tungjung Rhu). Was offerred refreshments and quickly escorted to our room... ooh la la. We promptly started our holiday by getting stuck into the food glorious food (it was lunch time and we were hungry). Note: take a package deal all you can eat in any restaurant (there are 3 to choose from). We then took pictures around the resort had dip in the lagoon pool. Aaaahhhh the sun is shining!!! (well at least through the clouds). The relief when we arrived on Pulau Langkawi was unbelievable - there were literally cheers from everybody on the boat (all of them backpackers escaping Georgetown) as we pulled into the Harbour. What a view. Absolutely stunning. 130 islands make up this area, clear blue waters and white sands. Our accommodation has been basic but comfy - a little beach hut right on the sand - who needs toilet paper and a sink eh? Not much to report really. 2 days of lying in the sun. Really chilled out place with a great atmosphere. Guys riding mopeds on the sand, volleyball - all whilst looking at jungle islands out at sea - fantastic! November 2nd - 7th I have to start this entry with an apology. I feel terrible that we haven't kept up with this blog like we wanted to, who knew that writing about your experiences could be so difficult and time consuming. We have had a great time here in Malaysia so far and are already half way through our time here. I will attempt to give you short updates of what we have been doing from November through mid-January (now). This week is a major holiday week in Malaysia. Tuesday was a holiday for Hari Raya and Thursday and Friday are holidays for Deepavali, the Indian Festival of Lights. Since Phil took Monday off to be with his parents he only had to work Wednesday. I met a really interesting monkey named "Eddie". He was adopted last year by the guesthouse when he was a baby. Now he is the eqivalent of a 10 year old boy with way too much energy and no discipline! Eddies personality shines through when he wakes up every morning to drag a kitten into the trees and rape it, followed by eating fleas off of it. Eddie always returns quite happy, but the kitten looks quite battered. I'm not sure why the owners of the guesthouse let Eddie do this, perhaps it keeps him away from his other antics! Eddie likes to steal peoples wallets then run underneath the deck to pick out the biggest bills for himself. Hey Everyone, Caught the ferry over to Lankawi today took a couple of hours but it was nice and relaxing. Got a taxi over to the resort and just as we arrived the skies opened and it poured down with rain looks like it will be the same all day. The resort is absolutely beautiful and the beach looks like something out of a film. We have already seen a monkey in the trees around us so there is a lot of nature as well. Glad were here for relaxation now as I have a really nasty head cold which has gone to my chest, I think were both slightly run down from the late nights and travelling so bring on the spa.
