Last Tuesday were the Chinese New Year fireworks and Mim, Lilly, James, Chris Scott, Toby, Jake and I went to Kellett Island (previously an island, however because of extensive reclaiming of land in the harbour, it is now joined onto Hong Kong Island itself) with the Youth Leader, Ajay, and his family to watch them. We had an amazing view of the fireworks and the only other people there were a few keen photographers... We took many a blurred picture of the fireworks before discovering that there was actually a firework setting on my camera which I thought was really exciting! :D We managed to narrow the photos down to 10 firework photos as we decided that you guys wouldn't be particularly interested in pages and pages of the same fireworks display... Anyway right at ... read more

Kung Hei Faat Choi, a happy Chinese New Year to all of you :) we have been busy bees recently following Mims highly charged culture programme and seeing the sights of Chinese New Year in HK. First though there are the pictures from climbing the rock walk again on Friday. This time, Sam and the dog he's looking after (Hebe) joined James and his dog Kai Lee, Me and my dog Widget, and Alice Mim Mum and Toby for a healthy jaunt up a big mountain with a rock at the top. As steep downward slopes and my back dont get on well, me and mim walked up to the top and back down the way we came, to get the car and drive round to the end to meet everyone else who did the whole ... read more

Hi all, just a very quick note to say whats been happenin this last week cos we haven't blogged in ages. i went back to work last week to cover for a friend, and so not a huge amount has happened worth blogging about as the others just chilled at home most of the day. a few things did happen - on a visit to the chinese embassy to pick up our last set of visas, the card case containing my bank card, mims bank card, mims provisional driving license and her national insurance card was stolen. AH. but all is well, mim and mum went to retrace their footsteps the whole day, didnt find it and so the cards were cancelled and replacements are on their way. Mim and Alice went out to the uni ... read more

When Mum went to China for a few days to see Claire, we made another friend called William. We met him at the campsite. He was carrying a boomerang and we asked if he knew how to throw it. We went out into the big field and threw our boomerangs together. The one we are traveling with is a regular boomerang and they had a three pointed one as well. The next day we went to their house to have dinner. William and I played laser tag and a bit of toys. We had potato, vegetables, soup and rice for dinner. William’s Mum is an awesome cook too. When Mum came back we went to their house for dinner again. William and I played some more laser tag and had some fun. We had lots and ... read more

and so the tale continues... There was a sailing race down at Hebe so after a late night we decided to crash the commitee boat and sit around on the deck watching the race :) not that it's a major detail of the day but MY BOAT WON :) Go Mojito! Alice failed...in that the boat she chose wasn't even in the race. Shame. was vair windsome though so we did spend a large part of the races sitting inside the boat eating chocolate wafers and watching from the window. The boat was stationed in a sort of bay bit which was surrounded with Mountains ( which Alice expressed a desire to shave) and little beaches. Me and Alice decided we should put our sailing expertise to good use and have been assured that we can ... read more

Hello, Today after a lovely long lie-in we hiked up the Lung Ha Wan trail. We almost died climbing up (even if James likes to think he skipped uup without breaking a sweat) But the view at the top and down-hill walk back was worth the pain :) Right, now this is James. Just to let you know, I dont do english and am crap at making sense, so you will have to learn my language. OK, so we went to Hebe Haven to eat dinner (mim, alice, myself) and it was yum. Tom Yum. Then we went to Boozer for some drinks with the 'crew' Then we took our clothes off (ish) and went into the Jacuzzi where we had a hot tub party with lots of things to drink and eat. Now we are getting warm ... read more

We made lots of friends at the campsite. Callum had a little girl friend he played his drums with and they had some fun with the orange bubbles and the swing. I made two friends called Jasmine and Jonathon. We played together at the campsite and went for a big hike. They have a dog named Rocky who is a real rascal. They invited us to see Madagascar 2 at the Cinema on the weekend. We liked the movie and after that they showed us a big bookshop called ‘Page One’. Another day we were invited to their home and we played lego and DS. We had yummy street noodles fried rice. At their house the Mum made delicious mango pudding and jiaozi for us. I hope my Mum can learn to make these too. Another ... read more

After a week in a hotel on Hong Kong Island, we moved out to a campground near a small seaside village called Hoi Ha in The New Territories. It was about a 35minute walk from the village to the campsite we chose. To say there were a few people out camping for the Christmas Holidays would be somewhat of a major understatement! The campground was a sea of tents. We found a spot on Christmas Day and then enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Callum salvaged some rope and wood from the coastline and we made the boys a swing on a tree. I helped a family with their excessive bags (mostly food of course as Chinese people sure know how to eat well!) one day and we were invited to join their group for a ... read more
