The traditional gate photo! Messages first--Mrs Reeves wants to say that everyone has been mightily malaroned this evening, and Archie says he will try to get some biltong but we don't know yet whether we'll be able to get it to and through customs. I think getting it TO will be the greater problem as Archie and Tom could eat it quite happily all day, and when they are asleep, Mr Hudson may take over!
It has been a day of gifts, thanks and farewells. Hendrick told us we were the salt of the earth and a light in the darkness. He said just as a little salt flavours a big dish, so we had made a big and lasting difference in The Grace. It began to come home to us what we and St. Andrew's as a whole has achieved here. There have been many photos, laughs, games, smiles and a few tears today. We were addressed by the school's Senior Management Team, one of whom thanked God for us and prayed for us to have a safe journey home. We saw the surgery--here is it not just First Aid on offer, but counselling and prayer too, and when the problem is solved,

First time Tilly has hugged a Headmistress! the children go back to report it and give thanks. Jocey is starting up a prayer bus--using the red London bus as a site for post-it notes.
Mr Hudson taught an English lesson on Animal Farm with Grade 12. Bethan and Nia sang 'Beasts of England' at the start. He also had a tour of the vegetable plot by the school, where flowers and veg are grown for the school, the Bible College and for sale.
In the evening we had a lovely braai at the mission, after a lot of local children called for a final game. We were thanked again, and given many gifts, and we gave ours in return. Everyone was very happy. There was a lot of applause, and Hendrick taught us a new song. We broke out spontaneously into Amazing Grace. Evelyn and Hendrick said they would miss the noise of the children's voices in the morning, and wished they had taped our breakfast chatter.
The girls are packed and ready to go tomorrow morning. They can have a lie in. The boys are not having a lie in. Enough said. Sleep well, England.
