So decided to take a day trip to Washington w/ Leyla. We woke really early to catch a bus from China Town and luckily we got some seats at the front and I got to slept for most of the (long) journey.

Arrived in Washington and prepared ourselves for the long walk around Washington DC, and boy was it a walk!!! I swear I was walking like John Wayne in those cowboy movies the next day!!! We started of eating to get some energy, and what better place then at Hooters!!! The girls were sexy, but they were really unfriendly! Of course, they only paid attention to the guys, who i couldn't stop laughing at because they were acting like they had never seen a girl before!!!

Anyway we started off by heading to The White House. It was an odd feeling being there, seeing it for the first time and seeing all those protestors. Leyla said the woman with the signs around her had been there for years, even when she went to visit 5 years before, and she had more teeth then!!!

Next was off to Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Veteran Memorial Wall. When we reached The World War II Memorial one of the first pillars was Philippines and I couldn't believe my eyes! I guess it's because mostly all the other pillars where representing other states in the United States and Philippines is in Asia. Well, of course it was nice to see it there! Then to make it even more amazing was that it was standing right next to Puerto Rico. Photo opportunity or what?!?!?!

So next was off to the Lincoln Memorial, and Leyla will tell you how excited I was to see it! When I got there, I wanted to climb and sit on his lap! When you stand outside and see the all the other monuments lining up in front of each other, it's breaktaking!!! It was a nice feeling being there! I so wanted to run in the reflecting pool and should out "FOREST"!!! Sad I know!!!

Then it was off to the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Wall. It was a sad experience, not only because you think of all the people who died in this war, but also because half way walking down the wall, I saw two woman, a younger and older woman, crying and holding a picture of a man and touching a name on the wall! No need to ask why she crying!!! Very touching!!!

Unfortunately we didn't get to do anything else, because we had to catch the bus back to New York. But definately coming back again to see all the other things we didn't get to see on this trip!
