We left Bergen via a hurtigboat northward on the beautiful west coast of Norway today. We switched to a winding bus ride for a few hours and then hopped on another smaller ferry to our final destination for the day, Ålesund. Neither of us had any motion sickness at all until the last leg on the ferry when they tossed all of us around on the Atlantic for a 20 minute spell. But I'm happy to report we survived intact. Completely. The weather cleared on our journey, and on Friday evening we began our current run of utterly fantastic weather.

Here is the small ferry we took into Ålesund. If you look closely, you can see us sitting behind the row of black windows. We're the people with the slightly green tint!

The view from our hotel room in Ålesund. Not too shabby!

Ålesund burned to the ground in 1904 and was rebuilt in the art nouveau style. Here you can see a small slice of how beautiful it is.

That is a great picture of you two on the ferry! Complete with Sudoku book in hand. How many minutes does it take you to complete one? Sudoku is addicting! May you continue to have such fine weather and safe journeys. Shelley
