Warning: Sculptures & Candy looks like penis. Tell your kids to go away!

9:30am: I woke up, washed my face, brushed my teeth, changed clothes, and ate breakfast (slice of bread with cream cheese and apple juice). My host mom, Manami, packed me 2 onigiri (rice triangles with seaweed and umeboshi inside) and Japanese radish, so I don't get hungry for lunch.

10:30am: I talk to Jon on Skype. I'm so excited for him coming to Japan!!

11:00am: Host dad, Daiki, and I left on bicycle to go to the "penis festival" but the real name is "Hounen Matsuri," which celebrates fertility. Matsuri means festival. Japanese bicycles are different from mountain bikes. They're not very fast and it's more wobbly because of the basket. Also, there's a key to make it move.

11:30pm: I met Daiki's matsuri group friends. I had the urge to shake hands, but I remembered that I am in Japan...it's sort of awkward to bow when I've been trained to shake hands.

12:00pm: We make it to the "Penis" festival and it was PACKED! Daiki bought me a lollipop that is shaped as a penis and he gave me another to give to Jon. Daiki's friend also gives me a lollipop. It's so funny to watch a lot of people sucking on the penis candies. AHAHAHAHAHA. There was many key chains that shows the movement of sex. Also, there was many funny scriptures (use your imagination). Then, I got to see 3 sculptures shaped as the penis in a parade. But it wasn't fenced, so people could walk through and in the parade, if we felt like it. The Japanese people even let foreigners carry the carriage. It was so funny! Daiki knew the parade route, so I got to take video of the sculptures many times. I saw 2 CIEE students and they were laughing. Daiki gives them penis lollipops. An American lady came up to us (struggling in Japanese) asking where we got the lollipops (she said "nomu" which meant drink but she pointed at the lollipops). Daiki and his friends looked at me, when the lady was talking to them. The lady was surprised that I spoke English. Hahaha! English is my main language! I wish I had told her that the candies may have sold out already, the lady was in a hurry or was embarrassed?

1:30pm: Daiki, his friend, his friend's baby, and I went to a temple. I go to so many temples. They're plainly everywhere! They're like churches in America. I met a lot more of Daiki's friends. One friend's wife is named Hiromi! Her baby's name is Yuzuki, just like my host baby sister!

2:00pm: We biked home.

2:30pm: Daiki and I made it home. I got to meet two more friends of Manami and I met Mimi again. Daiki falls asleep. Yuzuki falls asleep. I went to my room and fell asleep.

6:00pm: Manami woke me up because we're going to Yakiniku with her parents. Her friends fell asleep too! But everyone woke up and they were leaving. My host family and I left to pick up Manami's parents.

7:00pm: My host family, Manami's parents, and I made it to the Yakiniku restaurant. Manami's parents are so kind! They asked me how was the festival and they told me to eat a lot at the Yakiniku restaurant.

7:40pm: I love yakiniku! The meat is in blocks, instead of strips, which I told like because I can barely taste the meat's flavor. Also, I got to try raw meat and liver. It was ooookkkaaaaay. Manami's mom bought everyone ice-cream. Manami told her that I don't like ice-cream, so Manami's mom let me choose pudding with fruits and cream on top! It was so good! I told Manami's parents that I want to see their Japanese dog. So, Daiki dropped Manami, Yuzuki, and I off to see their dog! He looks like a wolf! So cute! I took a video of the cute dog. 😊

8:00pm: Manami, Yuzuki, and I went home fast because Daiki forgot his house keys. Manami's dad drove us home and Daiki was waiting outside. Manami and Daiki were so cute doing their little arguing fights. I always think all relationships should have those fights.

8:30pm: I talked to my host family. I told them that Jon is flying standby, so he most likely won't come tomorrow. Daiki goes to the arcade. Manami and Yuzuki takes a shower.

9:00pm: I take a shower. Manami and Yuzuki went to sleep. It took me a very long time to update yesterday's blog due to the many videos and photos.

12:00am: I'm updating today's blog.
