Approaoching Seoul
... Incheon International Airport So here I am, finally back to Australia, and all happy about it. The weather here is great, we have around 30 degrees, and it is sunny with a comfy cool breeze. I'm just sitting in Monica and Scott's backyard in Newcastle. But let's start with my journey.
My flight to Seoul, South Korea, was just a pure luxury. I had three seats for myself, as well as three pillows and three blankets. No wonder I had a good sleep on my way to Seoul. In Seoul, I took a walk around the airport. Last time, I had only seen it from the inside. The airport is a huge, modern building, with shops and restaurants, of course, but also with a beautifully arranged indoor garden. One funny thing I found is that there are emergency defibrillators that can be used by anyone after breaking a glass - similar to our fire alarm buttons.
I had a Korean meal in one of the airport restaurants. I can't remember the name of the dish, but it was lovely. After that, I was taken on the stopover tour that I had already told you about in my last little story. So a

Before going through customs in Seoul, passengers have to fill in some forms. In case they have forgotten their glasses, they can use the ones provided by the airport. bus took me and some other stopover passengers to a traditional buddhist temple. Our guide, Jamie, explained everything about the temple to us, and she also gave us a lot of interesting information about South Korea. Still, I must confess that I was quite happy to return to our bus as we had around zero degrees. It's winter in South Korea, too. The good thing was that I was given the opportunity to spend some time in a wonderful and all new spa at Incheon Airport in Seoul right after returning from the temple tour. Totally relaxed, I hopped on my plane to Sydney, and I was so tired that I hardly managed to stay awake until dinner was served.
The next morning at 8 o'clock, I finally arrived in Sydney. I was so happy to be back to Australia that the smile in my face wouldn't go away for the rest of the day. I caught a train to Newcastle, where Monica picked me up. It was just great to see her. The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm, so we sat outside first, then decided to wash Davis's car that he had left here last season. Scott

... Seoul Incheon Airport had gone for a fly and returned later on. Needless to say that I was happy to meet him again. We had a lovely barbecue, and I thought of everybody who is sitting in cold Germany right now...
The next two days were pretty busy. I had to register my car which was plenty of work, especially as one thing with the insurance went completely wrong. I the end, it took us two days to get everything organised. Again I have to thank Monica and Camo for their help. I also have two new GPSes that I needed to get familiar with. So I went on a little bike ride with them, entered a few waypoints on my tour and then did the tour once more, following my route. I needed some more equipment, had to do some more work, and so on. So the last two days were not very relaxing. Still, I'm really happy to be here. And I was happy to meet Camo, and Hadewych, who is staying at Camo's place at the moment.
On Tuesday, Belinda and Davis arrived from the US - one day after they were supposed to arrive. There had been

OzReport. But finally, they were here, and I was happy to meet them. Again, we had a lovely barbie.
On the 31st, I had some more work to do. Scott, Belinda and Davis left for Forbes. Around noon, Monica, Tinks and I set off to do some shopping for the party we wanted to have for New Year's Eve. Then we went to Stockton where we had a party with some friends. We had another barbecue. There were also two fireworks to watch. One at 9 p.m., for the kids, and one at midnight, for the adults. We spent the night in Stockton, and we just arrived back home from there. Today is going to be a lazy day. We might go to the beach later on, and I will definitely have to pack my car because I'm heading off for Corryong tomorrow morning which is a 700 km drive.
Happy New Year to everyone. Lots of good flights for all my pilot friends, and always happy landings.
