Well Hello!
So here I am, enjoying some late afternoon sunshine in Laroque des Albères, France.

It has been a busy few weeks since my last official update, so here goes.

We've (Cassandra, Amanda, Rowan and myself) been pretty much working straight for 6 days. We took last Sunday off since it was due time, and, since the night before we hit up our wondrous little town (kicked out for closing time at 10:30 p.m.), we decided to take a walk into town and buy some croissants.

Well. We decided to walk opposite our home, since we had a fleeting thought of perhaps hitchhiking to the sea. Buses don't run on Sundays here, so we gave it a go. The first car that picked us up drove 3k out of her way and right to the Plage d'Argeles...EASY!

It was sort of a crap day, and the water was cold, but we were absolutely happy to be there, with our feet in the sand and surf.

We stayed a bit, then journeyed back home, this time it took us 3 drivers and a bit more walking, but it was scenic, and I found us some wild grapes, persimmons and figs to snack on.

All and all, pretty nice!

We decided to work the next two days, inside painting and organizing a shed, and building steps. The farm looks completely different - clean, managed etc.

Wednesday was 30C so we opted for the beach in Collioure, much more beautiful and warm. We got a ride from one of our boss's friends. Again, all the way!

It was a day filled with baguettes, cheeses, wines and fruits. What more could you possibly ask for?

We managed two hitch hikes back, one guy took us about 3k out of his way. The generousity of people here astounds me. They are so nice to us foreigners!

That's been pretty much my only opportunity to speak french, unfortunately.

IN any case, it was Cass's birthday Thursday so we took that off too! We hiked up the mountain and back down so that was cool too (oh and had champagne and pumpkin pie to celebrate a bit).

So that's that! Tomorrow, it's off to Ceret market to help vend, and we have 6 straight days of work before we go elsewhere.

I hope all is well, that Stephen Harper isn't too high on his horse, and that everyone is happy and healthy, as I hear many are sick with colds!

Take care everyone,

Adrian.

ps. I lost my camera, so my appologies that this is mostly a text blog, perhaps it is boring?
