KL land of the cakes
how do you choose??? Can you adam and eve it? that i am now in Oz, how that happened so fast i will never know, one moment i was wondering around the lovely city of KL finding very tall buildings, even bigger shopping malls and and amazing amount of trouble to get into involving boys and cakes, though seperatly, and then a message come form out of the blue from Ms Caroline Newton ( who i used to live with in west London ) saying she was having an engagement party on the 17th of Nov in melbourne....so as i really don't think i will be able to make it back to the UK for July next year, i jumped on a mad bus to break for the Malaysia and Singapore boarder, got though and was informed over loud speaker at imgration that drug trafficers would be killed...always good to know and then.
Found a great hostel in little india, which i read in the lonley Planet was just like being in Bombay....i can tell you now that is a dreadful lie, or the person who wrote has never been to the gateway of India in Bombay, and been harrased by snake murchants. The
roads ofcourse in Singapore are clean and well maintained the public transports runs on time, and has gallons of AC pumped though it. They show these very intence terroriest attacking films, where a suspect package is left on a tube and then it all blows up, special effects and everything...i arrived and there was the Indian festivel lead up to De Varli going on, the tourism board was putting on free tours for us to do, which were great. We took in the locals markets and temples of little India. We were given presents of bombay miz, incence sticks and garlends of flowers.
The nice thing about Singapore it that it is commonwealth and so all the buildings are over 100 years old, which in south east asia is amazing. The are all original features and are well maintained, i loved it there, even the post office was like stepping back into the time of the British Empire. I went down to the water front and went on an evening night cruise, which took in all the sights, the satue of Mr Raffles, the grandest hotels, musums and amazing skyscrapers. Weent for a very expensive beer at a

if only India was like little india... bar which is called the clinic, and has wheelchairs for chairs and drips that you have your drinks put into!!! Strange drinking out of an IV tube.
The next day i said a sad goodbuy to Singapore, which was a brief but very enjoyable visit, and hightailed it on a Tiger airways flight to the NT, the topend, the end of the world or better known as Darwin. It is the tropics here and you know it the moment you get here. The air is so bloody humid and thr heat just burns off the ground. That you have to again just hide away from the mid-day sun. I got here at a silly time in the morning, but i guess that is really normal, as all kinds of things were open, so i was able to book into a hostel, get a bus into town and get some kind of sleep. the next day i wondered around this little city, went to the beach, saw lots of war memorabila. Darwin was bombed the hell out of in the 2nd world war. Made some new friends at the hostel, and went out for wat ended up being a terrible

brace yourself messy night, i blame the fact that there wwas an irish man in our group and that now i have even more blond hair, which lets me not take any responcibilty for my actions now. ( I should have gone blond years ago ) .
The next day i decied that there was far too much touble to get into in this town and so i booked a trip out to the national parks. Which included a 3 day 2 night camping experdition. I saw katadu nation park, with its jim jim falls which are not falling at this moment but as the monsoon season is on it's way any day now, the falls and billabongs will start getting filled up and flowing fast. The group was a nice mix of a few older english retired couple who are driving around most of Oz, good on them. Quite a few japanies girls, who are by far the nicest and cutest people you will ever meet. Aiko one of them was a monkey, climbing over rocks and up clif faces, clip jumping. She was a crazy monkey. We went on boat trips and saw heaps of crocs both saltwaters and
jewels....
bling bling freshwater. The nation bird of the Northern T, wild pigs. Walabee roaming around our camp sites with lots of Joeys still in their pouches, they had there feet sticking out. was terrible cute. We even had a few Dingo around our camp site, one which was black. Which i am told is very rare.
I slept under the stars bivvy style and swam in amazing waterfalls, saw wild horses left over from the ranching days of yester year and was told acient stories of cave paintings done 1000's of years ago. The sunsets were like the symbol of the NT with Mozzies to boot. All in all it was an amazing time, so much so that i have booked another trip down with the same company to broom, but taking in the great gib rd, before it washes away with the monsoons, and the mountain range of the Bungel Bungels...i just love that word. I want it on a t.shirt...
Speaking of t.shirts i have found that my Ramones T.shirt i got in Koh Phi Phi with Nellie is missing, one day i was rooting around my bag looking for it, and it was just not there, this

mum it really is a great city...you are so lucky to have lived here loss has made me terrible sad, i now feel like there is a major part of me missing, and am not sure how i will ever fill this voide.
Darwin has the Mindil sunset markets, and yesterday was the last oneof the year, they are right next to the beach and have great internation food, so i got falaful and salad ( lush-a-rama ) arts and crafts, tarro card readers, fire juglers, native dances and jazz singers and fireworks at sunset. All in all was not a bad way to end my time here in NT Darwin, i leave for the great sandy desert on the morrow 5.30am, so will be out of comision for a wee while, but take care and enjoy halloween and fireworks night...they don't do either over here. Love you all xoxoxoxo
