¡Feliz cumpleaños a ti! ¡Feliz cumpleaños a ti! ¡Feliz cumpleaños a Chance! ¡Feliz cumpleaños a ti! Feliz cumpleaños mi amor. Me hace falta mucho. Tu eres mi corazon.

I'm starting to write in spanish in my journal. I'll probably end up blogging in spanish as well. How exciting!

We stayed 2 nights at this place called D y D bed and breakfast and microbrewery. It was very secluded. You have to set out for a journey to really get anywhere. The place is very self sufficient and it has a pool! Oth yeah! We spent the first day chilling out since we travelled for a good amount of time from Copan on a bus to San Pedro. In San Pedro we had to find the central bus station and find a bus called El Mochito. From that bus we basically had to tell the bus driver what stop we needed. At the bus station we ran into Cynthia Dale who is the owner (with her husband, Bob) of the DyD. ¡Que suerte! She saw that we were looking for the Mochito and introduced herself. She took us to a different bus that was a rapidito. It was much smaller and it would be a lot faster...hence the name. It was awesome. It's amazing the number of people that were packed on this little bus, and how friendly they were. Actually, everyone here is very friendly and helpful. As well, their help is actual help and not a scam. Love those Hondureños!

So, we made it there and chilled. James and I stayed up and drank our fair share of beer. They locked up at 9 and gave us a pitcher before closing. We sat and chatted over the pitcher for a bit. Then, all the electricity went out. It was amazing how pitch black it was. Like we were in a cave with absolutely no light coming from anywhere. It was a bit freaky at first. It's crazy to see only black and nothing else. I kept blinking my eyes trying to wash the black from my sight thinking surely I would be able to make out some kind of shapes but I couldn't. James had a cigarette lit at the time so we had some fun making swirls and tracers off of that until our eyes adjusted. He also had the brilliant idea of turning on his camera and using that light. So, we finished our pitcher of beer by camera light.

The next day everyone was a bit sick. We think it was the beer. It was good but something got made us just a bit off. It may also just be the travel crud that usually hits either a few days into travelling or at the 2 week mark. I'll probably experience the 2 weeker since I didn't really get much of what hit James and Kris.

We spent the next day in the pool and then on a little row boat tour of the lake. That is a little part of the lake and on a really small row boat. The water was almost level with the top of the boat when we all got in. Rafael was our guide and it was his boat that he fished in. We saw all kinds of cool plants and birds. He took us to el cueva de fantasma (ghost cave) and we saw little bats hanging out on the side of a rock. He spooked them and they flew right over our heads!

So, then we had to take a bus from the side of the street to Teguc. It was supposed to be a direct bus but it wasn't at all. We pretty much picked up anyone that needed to go to Teguc. The trip took about 5 hours. I sat next to a bucket of fish. Oh yeah...yummy! It was fresh so it didn't stink. Thank goodness! A dude bought us a bag o mango slices, which was very nice. A drunk kept James entertained.

After that very long bus ride we met up with Dan and Suyapa's son Danny (they are Peace Corps buddies of my mom's). He picked us up and took us to Zamarano. Now, we're basically in paradise for the next few days.

I'll blog again soon.
Love you Chance!
