We will be in Istanbul for a couple days in May and would like a recommendation on a guide. Since we are there for such a short time, it doesn't need to be adventurous, just the main sights. We had contacted SRM travel, but they said they were booked. Thanks for any information

I went by myself, with a copy of Istanbul Lonely Planet under my arm, I saw a lot, and loved every minute.

Reply to this I don't know of any specific private guides. All I can suggest is to look through guide books, these often have recommendations for private guides.
I went to the Rick Steves website. He's really good, but only North American's will know him. He write guide books and has a television series, he only travels to Europe.
