Doing more that 4 years of backpaking mostly in Latin America and Asia I have never stayed in such a lousy place as the Garibaldi Guesthouse in Budapest.
The rooms are small and dirty, the owner turns off the heat doing even though that it was snowing. Finally the Lander lady also changed the price when I had to pay, and she even tried to cheat with the number of days.
In other words, don’t go there.
Reply to this I stayed at the Banki hostel in Budapest's 6th district (Podmanicky utca) - and I only have good things to say about it. Large room, friendly staff, fabulous location, and well-priced.
