(Apologies if you\'ve come across this in other travel forums.)
Hello,
Anyone know the latest regulations on how valid your passport (UK) needs to be?
On many websites sites, it says at least 6 months.
However, on an added note to the newest Rough Guide to Turkey it says all passports must have one year\'s worth of validity remaining.
This is quite urgent as my gf\'s passport runs out in 8 months and we want to visit Istanbul next week!
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TravelBlog.
I would say it would depend on the country you are getting the visa for, rather than what country issued your passport. Can't comment on UK passports specifically, but I've often heard that as a general rule you need at least six months validity after the date of intended departure from the country.
Check with the Turkish embassy in London, you can probably pay extra to get a new passport processed in a couple of working days.

Update for those following this thread:
From an email from www.gototurkey.co.uk
I can confirm that you need minimum 90 days on your passport. It used to be 6 month but it has changed.
Reply to this hi, Jo Trouble

Just in case anyone is reading this thread now, this minimum of 90 days is only half of the truth. Basically as of the time of this posting (16/05/09), Your passport should be valid for at least six months on entry into Turkey and have at least three months' validity on the date you are exiting Turkey.
Please see the following link from the official Foreign and Commonwelth Office website.
