I'm planning on being in Rome for New Year's Eve and want to make the most of the night. I know there are a lot of activities going on that night all around the city, and from what I have read it all sounds great... but most of the listings are somewhat superficial/lacking in details. Does anyone have any particular recommendation about what to do, and around what time most of the activities take place? Any help is welcome, and thanks in advance! 😊 Reply to this

there's always a free concert going on in piazza del popolo and there's the club La Maison which is just off via governo vecchio in the centro storico which will be putting on the best night in the city. For accommodation try out <snip> and for the best food in Rome, chica boomba again on the via governo vecchio. Their hand made pasta is the best.

I was in Rome last new years and had a blast! I had heard that there were fireworks at the piazza del popolo so I went there and it was just people sitting around the perimeter of the piazza and throwing bottles, fireworks, and firecrackers in the center. It was insane. The riot police soon showed up. I had an awesome time, I'm sure it will be similar craziness. It seemed totally unofficial, but lots of fun. I met a lot of people. Bring a bottle of wine and just watch people be insane.
Also, I think the Pope does something, says a speech or something. I know people in my hostel did that and said it was fun.
It depends on what kind of thing you are into. Reply to this

Hi!! My name is Emanuela and i live in Rome (Italy). I'm so happy that you have chosen my country for New Year's Eve !! I've just created a web site (<snip>😉 dedicated to my wonderful city and i would be happy to give you advices and suggestion. Please, for any information, write me to the mail address that you will find on the web site. I will be happy to help you!!!!
For the New Ear's Eve the best thing is to have a special dinner in a typical italian restaurant and then walk through the streets of the historic centre, crowed of people, at midnight go to the hill of Gianicolo, which is wonderful, to watch fireworks. After that you can choose among many discos or night club of the centre, where you can have fun!
I will give you more details
Waiting for your mails...
