Reply to this depends on where you're going.. if you're going towards Split, try Trogir, Split, island Brac (you must try and get to the Zlatni rat beach in Bol on that island). If you're more of a party type, go to the island of Hvar, lots of tourists, great coctail bars...
Dubrovnik is a must. If you're going to Istria, don't miss out on the small villages inside the peninsular (Motovun, Grozjan etc). Also, if you can, try and make it to Zagreb, Croatia's capital. It's still full of people, many great pubs and clubs to go to.
