Hello

Is it possible to obtain an entry visa at the Chong Mek / Vang Tao border crossing as we have received conflicting information?

Yes, Muang Ngoi is only accessible by boat from Nong Khiaw . It takes about 30 minutes from nong Khiaw to Muang Ngoi .

It's possible to obtain an entry visa at the Chong Mek / Vang Tao border crossing, just don't forget to take your 2 passport pics and you'll have to pay USD 30 for visa. You can get the visa there for sure.

There are many prices of hotels and guest house, the cheapest ones cost USD 3 to 5 usually this prices are guest houses but some guest houses are more expensive, it depends... it can cost you like USD 20 , this prices the rooms are better though. In Laos we use lao kip but it's ok for you to pay THB and USD too Reply to this

We will be coming from Chai Mai to Chiang Kong for boarder crossing into Huay Xai. Can we easily do this in one day or should we stay at Chaing Rai the night before travelling to Chiang Kong for the crossing?
thanks for your help Reply to this
