Hi

I am planning to be travelling through Asia during the months June, July, August. I am planning to travel through Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Can anyone please provide some accurate information on the feasibility of this considering it is monsoon season? From my research I think Thailand will be fine, Laos will OK, Cambodia and Vietnam may be extremly difficult. Is this correct? I know some people relish \\\"challanges\\\" but im not too keen in being stuck in rain and muck for a month or two solid!! Also will there be any other travellers there at this time of year? Dont want the place to be packed but dont want to be the only travellers there as well, hope to meet up with a few lunatics to have the craic with!!

Any help on the above would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I can't really tell you how bad the monsoon will be as I haven't gone yet. I can however say that I am travelling through the same countries at the same time. I should imagine there will always be people around just fewer than in the dry season. Might make it easier to haggle though! Reply to this

Hey

Did Vietnam in the monsoon time in 2005 - twas lovely....

It wasnt constant rain, more just one massive shower every afternoon about the same time.... twas cool, everyone just sheltered in beach shacks etc for that hour and whatever and then back to it.... The weather was really lovely most of the time, mornings in particular....

The only place to be weary of is up in the mountains of Dalat I guess where it was more intense. If you do dalat go Canyoning (where you abseil jump off the waterfalls up there) Did a 15 metre freefall jump down a waterfall, one of the highlights of my life....
