Do you have plans to travel in the next few months? (possibly 2021).
Have you had the COVID vaccine? Do you plan on having the vaccine before you travel this year? What plans are you making?
Reply to this We've had the COVID vaccine and we want to travel some place before 2021 ends. We want to continue to make smart decisions as people in other countries are unlikely to have been vaccinated.
We are thinking about a scuba diving trip in the Caribbean. We are also considering some countries in Europe that are opening to U.S. citizens.
Reply to this Driving to the Everglades from New York tomorrow. Pretty excited!

I wish we were in Florida right now so we could meet. We won't be back until the last week of March. You will enjoy the Everglades. The National Park offers some great boat rides and history of the mangroves. So many beautiful birds. You might want to pick up a book called The Orchid Thief. It is a quirky book about Florida. Can't wait to read your blog.
Reply to this Thank you. I recently purchased the book, River of Grass, by Majory Stoneman Douglass. I'm saving it for the trip, but the first few pages are wonderful. My only goal is to not to be eaten by an alligator. 😉
I have a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains from this October that I still need to write up. Somehow, I still find a way to run out of time each day even in our restricted situation!
Reply to this I'm watching the virus levels. The issues I've read with the vaccine is that its proven to do a very good job at keeping people from getting seriously ill, but the jury is out how well it keeps people from spreading COVID to others. That implies a continuation of quarantines until the virus level drops to very low levels.
I will definitely go somewhere this year, because I'm going stir crazy. I suspect it will be within the US, and booked with as little lead time as I can get reservations. I will definitely get the vaccine first.
Reply to this Linda and I have both been vaccinated twice. We have tickets to fly to Edinburgh, Scotland on 23 Aug, returning 5 Sep 2021. I'm confident that the authorities will permit travel for those who have been vaccinated. At least they will if they follow the science.
Reply to this I get my 2nd vaccination tomorrow and these are my next travel plans:
- short trips to Czech Republic and France in automn 2021
- Jordan and Israel journey in october 2021
- Lisbon city trip in november 2021
- Berlin city trip in december 2021
- Zurich city trip in january 2022
- Kiev city trip in june 2022
- Transsib journey in august 2022
- Tunis city trip in october 2022
I hope that I can do all of this without problems. In the last 15 months I mainly had home office with only small excursions.

I'm thrilled to read about others who are in the planning stages of travel. We are getting very excited at the possibilities.
Bob, let's chat about your 2022 plans. Dave and I may be in some of those countries in the fall of 2021 or in spring of 2022.
Maybe our paths will cross.
Reply to this In response to: Msg #209182 The Fall of 2021 we will be in Scotland. In May of 2022 my son Will and Mercy will have their wedding in Temecula CA, so we were putting off the Poland etc. trip to the Fall. It would be great if we could coordinate our trip with you!
