Could anyone tell me if the website now updates awards automatically . For example at 500 blogs should my award have changed from blog poster 1 to blog poster 2?

Those should be updated automatically updated, but sometimes a bug will mess with things.
I'll get the developers to check this out.

I cannot believe that I have racked up 500 and we are off to Cornwall next week for a week so I am going to enjoy blogging about a county I have not visited for years. You're having a bad run of it by the sounds! The developers are unaware of the issue - unfortunately though things need to be prioritised, but they definitely haven't forgotten about the award icon updates.

I came across one long-time blogger (
nancic123) who seems to have joined in 2011, has 133 blogs, 2385 photos - and counting - but not a single award! Can anyone tell us the current situation please?

I think you may be right . Mine as you can see from the thread should have updated quite a few years ago . It has never moved and the awards seem rather abandoned. I might ask my friend a moderator what is going on with them. He is very good at answering my queries . Shame really I looked forward to getting my Level 2 and with 687 blogs written it gave me a slight incentive to carry on.

Diving in the South Pacific is the best exercise. So how are things with Ali? Is he our only Developer now? If so, has he done anything in the last year? A couple months ago I contacted him and he agreed to continue to make improvements, but I haven't seen any results other than my Countries Visited Map is back up.
Reply to this I have commented on more than one occasion that the awards system appears to have been abandoned. It's a pity because I believe it's a vital way of retaining interest and membership.
There is also another open topic on this same subject ('Travel Blog Award Criteria' - https://www.travelblog.org/Topics/39943-1.html ). I note that includes mention of the fact that I first raised the matter more than 4 years ago (https://www.travelblog.org/Topics/34662-1.html). The only change seems to be that the awards are no longer awarded!
Oh, and we still have a 'Bloggers of the Week' tab on the front page, despite this having been replaced many moons ago by a Blogger of the Month award.
