I don't understand...
Hi, I've just finished my first blog entry, and I'm exited to share it with the readers on this site but since publishing it doesn't show up anywhere.
I mean it doesn't show under "Lastest Blog entries" and "Newest blog entries" on the homepage. So no-one will read it basically, I mean it's hard to find unless you have the direct url to the post, which is: https://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Philippines/Boracay/blog-910880.html
I'm trying to understand how this works, can anyone enlighten me? Why is it not showing among the newly published blog posts?
Reply to this Now I see this "COMMERCIAL - we have identified your account as being commercial in nature - eg. a guest house or tour operator - this is not an invitation to spam either the blogs or forums "
I am not a guest house nor a tour operator. Yes I linked out to some other relevant websites including my own website, which is just a guide and is not commercial in any way.
I do not appreciate being called a spammer.
Reply to this Hi Paul,
Sure -- we get a lot of new bloggers asking why their blogs don't show up on the latest blogs, newest blogs or front page. As a big website, we are under a constant deluge of spammers trying to get visibility. To counter this, TravelBlog works on a reputation system where bloggers must build a reputation in order to take advantage of other parts of the site. Even legitimate new and commercial accounts will not receive immediate visibility.
Technically, your blog breaks TravelBlog's terms of service (the link is available below and I've also included in a reply to your support email -- and I highly, highly recommend reading it). I cannot specify which rule as it would only make it easier for spammers to attack our site, which we work very hard to keep at bay.
We allow our trusted moderators to decide the status of new accounts as they come in and one of them chose to make your account "commercial" rather than suspending it.
Your blog status is not set in stone. We can definitely change the status of your account back after seeing that your posts are not of a commercial nature.
Thanks,
Michelle
Reply to this Ok thanks for you explanation Michelle, I'll read over those Terms.
