During my trip to Utah, I just had to see Monument Valley in Arizona. Of course, as you approach (driving south) on Highway 163 you see this fabulous scenery in the foreground. I was not the only person who stopped to take pictures! As I stated in my blog, if you google "Forrest Gump running", you will actually see the video where he decides simply to stop running. The location of that scene is almost exactly where my photo was taken. Forrest is running north, however, while I am driving south. Was quite extraordinary to see almost the exact same image from such an iconic movie. Reply to this

Very impressive picture. How did you get the shot from the highway? I took a picture of the scene (which is not framed as well) from that sand pullout on the right. Reply to this

Was a quiet day on the road. Was easy just to stand in the middle of the road and shoot a few shots. I wanted a shot with no vehicles in it but unfortunately the white vehicle in the foreground was captured. Would have been too hard to wait until there were no vehicles in both directions. I was close! Half expected Forrest to run by! Reply to this
