A traveler making memories instead of spending money on fancy things. Not a secret millionaire... just sensible use of resources.
Congratulation to December's Blogger of the Month 2018
johnpoulton
Work colleagues and friends used to ask if I'm a secret millionaire, the truth is we live in a modest house, buy cheap cars and don't spend our money on 'stuff'. There's no pockets in a shroud, we want memories to grow old with, not things. Some of the holidays are quite flashy and pricey, but most aren't as we take advantage of cheap flights. We look for bargains on booking.com and, if the weather's nice enough, we camp in the UK in summer. The aim of this blog is to share anecdotes from our trips and ideas about destinations. I hope you like it and thanks for looking....

Blogger of the Month Awards Reply to this Many thanks for choosing me as blogger of the month, it's a lovely thing to wake up to!
My last trip away was to Egypt last December. I didn't do a blog on it as I've done one before I didn't have a lot to say. I might change my mind on that, if only to show off the underwater footage I got. :-)
So far for 2019 there are three trips planned. My wife and I are off the Lanzarote for a week very soon, cheeky winter sun. We've been a few times but not for a while and I've never written about it. In February we've got a long weekend in Alicante, never been before and looking forward to that. In April I'm going to Granada with some old pals. The plan is to do some walking in the Sierra Nevada, sightseeing in the city and general chilling out. We've also got a couple of nights in Malaga which is a great place.
I'm writing a novel at the moment so I've bought a travel laptop so I can keep on the case while I'm away. I'm enjoying that. We hope to go camping in the UK in summer, though that didn't materialise last year. It may be that we go to Africa at some point in 2019 possibly Botswana or Tanzania, but they'll be expensive so we'll have to see. I'm 60 in the summer and we're having a big party to 'celebrate'.
Best wishes and thanks for reading my blogs.
John
